A bus in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir crashed into a canyon, killing 15 people and injuring 10

ISLAMABAD, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani police said on the 3rd that a passenger car fell into a canyon in Pakistani-controlled Kashmir on the same day, killing at least 15 people and injuring 10 others.

Yunus, a local police officer who went to the scene of the accident to participate in the rescue and investigation, told Xinhua that the bus carrying 25 people slid off the road during a sharp turn and fell into a canyon, seriously damaging the vehicle. Many of the injured who were rescued were seriously injured and had been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Yunus said the bus was in a car accident on its way from Pakistan-controlled Kashmir to Rawalpindi in Punjab province.

Traffic accidents in Pakistan are frequent, mostly due to aging vehicles, poor road conditions and weak safety awareness among drivers.
