Hacienda santa teresa in northern Venezuela was founded in 1796. Santa Teresa 1796 Soleila Rum is made from fresh cane juice, distilled in a copper pot still, and finally matured by a Sorella system of French oak barrels, with sweet caramel and creamy vanilla aromas, as well as toffee, cherry and raisin flavors. On the palate it is filled with notes of dried fruit (especially oranges), molasses and berries, gradually fading toffee, chocolate and cinnamon. The aftertaste is long and layered, with dark chocolate and caramel flavors.
