When world war II broke out, a young Jewish boy was sent to an unnamed Eastern European countryside to try to survive. In the process, the little boy experiences a series of atrocities. The local farmers feared that the little boy was the devil and tortured him in every way. Once, when the little boy had a fever, he was buried in the ground by a witch on the grounds of "curing the disease", hoping to reduce the fever by this method. The boy survived, not knowing whether it was buried in the soil or for some other reason—but before the witch could come back and dig him out, he was attacked by a crow, which pecked him bloodied. Despite this, the little boy did not leave the countryside here, but gradually deepened. No matter how much people insist that he doesn't belong here, he doesn't leave either.

The original book of "The Painted Bird" revolves around the experience of a nameless boy hiding from the war in the countryside of Eastern Europe, and the story reflects on and understands the absurd behavior of marginal characters from different perspectives such as society and history.

In Eastern Europe in the 1940s, a young boy (petr kotlar) accidentally burned down his dead aunt's house and fled town. From then on, he was expelled from a series of small villages, each time thrown to places of increasing terror. Evil is everywhere, and he must survive anyway.

The biblical "Stained Bird" begins with a little boy being chased, beaten and forced while his pet is burned alive by fire, and from there it gets more and more creepy, "Whose fault is this?"? A kind character tells him what happened: "You shouldn't go out on your own". This dark and depraved adventure is relentless, and a shooting nightmare reveals the worst of humanity.

This painful suffering is the dawn of the Age of Hell, when the boy is exposed to the most terrible, cruel, and brutal sadists, innocence is wiped out, and enthusiasm is clearly lost from him. The film is based on a 1965 novel by Polish-American Jerzykosiński, adapted and directed by Václavmarhoul of the Czech Republic, who worked without hesitation for nearly 3 hours with little respite. Without moving, nor sensual, václavmarhoul presents a static, God-like vision that overwhelms us while making the experience more fulfilling to the cinematic picture.

The film is full of incredible picture faces that smutný adored them. Udo Kier's eyes had never been so hypnotic. Scary images will always be with you. It's hard to forget the sight of the boy buried in his neck, the crow pecking at his bleeding head, and the cat licking the human eye.
