The 9th World Forum on Chinese Studies will be held in Shanghai

Shanghai, 17 Oct (Xinhua) -- The Ninth World Forum on Sinology, with the theme of "The Communist Party of China, China, and the World," will be held at the Shanghai International Convention Center from 18 to 19 October.

According to reports, the Ninth World Forum on Chinese Studies will invite 156 well-known scholars at home and abroad to attend the conference. Among the participants, there were 71 offline guests and 85 online guests. They will explore the century-old course of the Communist Party of China and its significance for the future development of China and the world from the fields of politics, economy, culture, society and international relations.

The forum consists of a plenary session and five parallel sub-forums. The themes of the five parallel sub-forums are "China's Modernization Road", "China's Practice and Global Governance", "China's 14th Five-Year Plan and World Economic Recovery", "The Common Destiny of Colorful Civilizations" and "Common Future and Youth Action".

In addition, the forum will also announce the winners of the 6th World Contribution Award for Chinese Studies. According to the recommendation and voting of 78 experts from the Selection Committee of the World Contribution to Chinese Studies Award, 3 experts will be awarded the Sixth World Contribution Award for Chinese Studies.

The World Forum on Chinese Studies is co-sponsored by the Information Office of the State Council and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, and jointly hosted by the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and the Information Office of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government.

After 17 years of development, the World Forum on Sinology has become a national platform for Chinese studies and exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations.
