The drama is jointly produced by CCTV and the Political Work Department of the Navy, telling the moving story of the officers and men of the maritime hospital ship fulfilling their national missions and going overseas to save lives and help the injured, composing a group portrait of heroes, and carrying forward the important concept of a community of destiny.
With a white hull and a red cross, the "Peace Ark" is also affectionately known as the "Great White Boat" and "China Boat" by people in different countries and regions. There is a line in the play that tells the national responsibility of the hospital ship "to guard peace with thousands of miles", "No matter where our ship is headed, we have two words written on our faces: 'China'." ”

The story of "Ark of Peace" begins with a sudden emergency mission, when the superior quickly transfers Zhang Duhang, a military doctor of the escort formation, into the maritime hospital ship "Peace Ark". Following the trajectory of Zhang Duhang's mission, the screen will unfold chapters such as merchant ship distress, transnational disaster relief, anti-virus, and overseas counter-terrorism.
Surgery and bullets, rescue and counter-terrorism, the contrasting scenes are intertwined in the play. In the genealogy of domestic dramas, the "Red Cross Square" broadcast in 1997 once left a deep impression on the audience with the growth story of a group of military doctors. Since its entry into the column, the waves of the "Peace Ark" have swept across the three oceans and traveled to 43 countries and regions on six continents, and in a pair of expectant eyes, this is the most trustworthy force for peace; it has also traveled all over the motherland's sea frontiers to ensure exercise escorts. Therefore, it is the proper meaning of the title of the TV series to film China's mission and broad feelings as a responsible major country actively fulfilling its international obligations and striving to safeguard world peace.
"The Boat of Peace" is directed by Cao Dun, written by Feng Ji, starring Chen Kun and Zhang Tianai, special starring Zhang Meng and Yin Fang, and starring Yu Haolei, Wang Qiang and Zhao Wei. The play also focuses on the life scenes after the "Peace Ark" returns to China, so as to observe the inner world of military doctors Zhang Duhang and Lu Yang, captain Wu Zhifang, political commissar Ye Nan, president of the Maritime Hospital Sun Chenghai, and Jiaolong team member Gao Qi.
