Sima Qian
In the pre-Qin period, there was a very magical profession, called Taishi, which was in charge of drafting documents, ordering princes and princes to write history, recording historical events, compiling history books, and also managing national classics, astronomical calendars, sacrifices, etc. They knew everything and could do everything, and they were simply the spokesmen of the immortal gods in the human world, more orthodox and consortial than the emperors entrusted by the monarchy and god. In Sima Qian's "Records of History", he vividly shows the duties and bones of his Taishi colleagues many times.
According to the research of later generations, the history of faith in our country began in the Republican period of the Western Zhou Dynasty, and under the pen of "Shi Sheng", the first shining appearance of Taishi was during the zhou Xuanwang period, and the time almost corresponded.
During the reign of King Xuan of Zhou, there was a Taishi named Boyang who once analyzed the situation for Zheng Huangong, the son of King Li, and chose the location of the fief. Later, because of the earthquake, he first predicted the death of the Zhou Dynasty within ten years, and then told a historical "record" of a god. It is said that during the Yin Shang Period, there were two sacred dragons, which were preserved as a mouthful of spit. Hundreds of years later, during the reign of King Li of Zhou, this spit contaminated a small palace girl in the court, causing her to become pregnant and give birth to a concubine, after which the adult concubine married King Zhou You, the grandson of King Li. Later stories are known to everyone, the princes of beacon theater, the fall of Western Zhou, and the eastward migration of the Ping King.
As people of the hereafter, we have to thank this "Taishi", it turns out that there really are "existing" divine beasts in our history, and this person is very skilled, and if you pinch your fingers, you can know which year the dynasty will collapse, that is, you don't know why you know what is about to happen, but you have not done anything to stop it?
In 705 BC, that Zhou Taishi helped Chen Ligong calculate and predicted that his descendants would occupy the Magpie's Nest to replace a certain Fang state under the heavens, and the monarch of this country was surnamed Jiang.
This is not this man's nonsense, and there are other reliable sources that support this claim.

Cui Zhu killed Taishi twice

At this time, Qi Guotaishi jumped out, accused Cui Zhu of being unfaithful, and wrote in the history book that "Cui Zhu killed the Duke of Qi Zhuang". Cui Zhu was very annoyed, who is this headless and brainless record disgusting? Send it directly to qi zhuanggong as a companion.
This Taishi had a younger brother who took over the position of Taishi and wrote in the history books that "Cui Zhu killed the Duke of Qi Zhuang", Cui Zhu was very surprised, is this family not afraid of death? He was sent to Huangquan Road again.
Worthy of being a big family, this family also has a third brother, who once again took over the post of Taishi, and he still continued to write in the history books that "Cui Zhu killed the Duke of Qi Zhuang". Cui Zhu only then understood that the family had a brain disease and a tendon, so they didn't bother to recreate the killing.
The Taishi of the State of Qi is really unique. During the reign of Duke Qi Jian, Tian Shi and The Overseer of Quan Chen had already fought to the palace, and Duke Qi Jian wanted to fight back, but the then Qi Guo Taishi persuaded: "It's okay, Tian Shi is on the side of the Qing Emperor!" "As a result, everyone knows it, things are out of play, The Tian clan is on behalf of Qi, and the foundation of hundreds of years has been destroyed."
The taishi of other countries is not far behind, and it is possible to influence public opinion and politics with a knife and pen.
In 607 BC, Zhao Dun of the Zhao clan fled under the blows of the Jin Linggong, and before he could escape the border, the Jin Linggong was killed by Zhao Dun's brother, so Zhao Dun returned to the capital to re-preside over the overall situation, but at this time, the Taishi Donghu of the Jin State directly recorded in the history books, "Zhao Dun killed the monarch", and believed that Zhao Dun was a murderer. I don't know if this Taishi's deeds were made public at that time, anyway, the later generations of Kong Dasheng thought that Dong Hu had done the right thing, and he was definitely an excellent person! He felt that who made Zhao Dun's legs short and did not run out of the country! If the legs and feet run faster, there is no responsibility. It is also because of Dong Hu's characterization that the later Tu'an Jia slaughtered the Zhao clan under the pretext of Zhao Dun's killing of Jun, so there is a familiar story of the Zhao orphans.
This story reminds us that Taishi has a professional responsibility and is a "good" and "not afraid of power" professionals.
In 489 BC, the State of Chu rescued the State of Chen, which was attacked by the State of Wu, and King Chu Zhao fell ill in the army, and the sky was blank and the sun flew xia, and king Chu Zhao asked Zhou Taishi about the fierce luck. Taishi is really an omnipotent all-rounder, and he can actually cure diseases. He told the King of Chu that it was easy to cure the sick, as long as the patient was transferred to the seat of the general... King Chu Zhao couldn't bear it, those were all old brothers who had experienced wind and rain with themselves, how could they be so cruel? Zhou Taishi could only divinate again, and this time, he pinpointed the cause of the disease, believing that the King of Chu had rammed the Yellow River and could be cured by sacrificing the river god. King Chu Zhao wanted to come and go, he really couldn't figure out the logic of this matter, his family had always sacrificed the Yangtze River and Han Shui, and he hadn't offended the god of the Yellow River hundreds of miles away. The stubborn King of Chu Zhao directly arranged his own affairs.
