On the afternoon of January 17, 1931, Cai Bozhen, Wu Zhongwen, and a group of Communist Party members discussed at the secret contact point of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China at Room 6, Zhongshan Hostel, No. 275 Tianjin Road, Shanghai, to discuss a meeting opposing Wang Ming's takeover of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee.

In the prison cart escorted to the execution ground, the two did not fear the approaching god of death, and even seized the last time of their lives to hold a "wedding on the prison cart", forcing the god of death to be a witness to their love.

A total of twenty-four Communist Party members were killed in this incident, and posterity called them the "Twenty-Four Martyrs of Longhua", among which Cai Bozhen and Wu Zhongwen's undaunted faith and touching love were also remembered by future generations, becoming a touching blood-colored romance on the red march.
