Li Ting was on the set of "Dai Green Years" with Feng Baobao and Zhu Jing, and committed suicide a few days later.
On August 28, 1966, Li Ting, a 21-year-old actress, hanged herself in the bathroom of Room 102, 3 basements, the old staff dormitory, and died a terrible death. Li Ting, formerly known as Li Zhongting, was born in 1944, at the age of 16, she followed her father from Nanjing to Hong Kong, and was admitted to the first training class of the "Southern Experimental Theater Troupe" the following year, during which she participated in the hit film "Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai" starring Letty and Ling Bo, and signed a contract to become a Shaw actor after graduation.
There are many versions of the cause of Li Ting's death, and there are both career failures and setbacks.
Due to the box office failure of the movie "Crocodile River", the heroine of the original new film "Beacon Fire" was replaced by Ling Bo, which made Li Ting depressed for a long time; the emotional aspect was even more unhappy: she had fallen in love with a Singaporean businessman surnamed Lu and Liao Liewu, and then because her father was seriously ill and engaged to a rich businessman, she only wanted 20,000 Hong Kong dollars for her father's treatment, but the rich businessman gave 200,000 - the remaining 180,000 were cheated by the director Qin Jian, who had a private affair with her, and then Qin lost the money because of gambling horses.
Li Ting left a note before she died, "Dear Father, you have to live well." But the year after she left, her father, Li Shutang, also committed suicide in Sha Tin's apartment. In 1969, director Qin Jian hanged himself in Shaw's dormitory (in the same place as Li Ting) due to failed marriage, career stagnation, and high gambling debts.
Qin Jian is addicted to gambling, and when the average number of Hong Kong people is 100 mosquitoes per month, they have been crazy enough to gamble on the "bottom card" of 50,000 mosquitoes once, and they have also cheated Li Ting's savings with emotional blank checks, and finally suffered the consequences themselves.
After the deaths of Li Ting and Qin Jian, the Shaw staff dormitory began to be frequently haunted, and in February and March 1978, Shaw even had to ask the mage to come and do things, but still could not erase the "ghost" in people's hearts.

Taiwanese director Ding Shanxi, who lived with Li Ting in Shaw's dormitory, was the first person to find Li Ting's body, and in the case that everyone was reluctant to take care of Li Ting's posthumous affairs, Ding Shanxi, who was not a relative, took on the matter of receiving a death certificate, buying a cemetery, sending a funeral, and so on.
Later, Ding Shanxi was hired as a formal director by Taiwan's China Film Company, and the night before leaving Shaw's dormitory, he actually "saw the dead Li Ting kneeling not far away in a trance, kneeling all night until dawn" - Ding Sui entrusted people to transfer their small savings in Hong Kong to Li Ting's father.
Ding Shanxi later became famous in Taiwan, and "Falling Eagle Gorge", "Eight Hundred Heroes", "Green Blood and Yellow Flowers" and so on became classics in film history, and everyone at the time called it "Li Ting Repays Favor".
