As one of the heaviest celestial phenomena of the year, last night, the astronomical spectacle of the "Red Moon Total Eclipse + Supermoon" appeared in the sky. Although there are clouds in the evening and at night, a super red moon can still be seen "out of the food". According to reports, this is the only total lunar eclipse in 2021, coinciding with the largest full moon, so it is also known as a "super total lunar eclipse". At 18:30 yesterday, the Southeast Morning Post Douyin, video number and Kuaishou number broadcast the "Super Moon Total Eclipse" live, and more than 76,000 people watched it during the live broadcast.

This total lunar eclipse (red moon): 16:46 Penumbral eclipse begins→ 17:45 initial loss→ 19:09 eclipse is → 19:19 eclipse is very → 19:28 raw light → 20:53 compound round → 21:51 penumbra eclipse end. The whole process lasted 5 hours and 5 minutes, of which the umbra food lasted 3 hours and 8 minutes, and the largest umbra food was divided into 1.015.

A rare astronomical wonder that attracts many astronomy enthusiasts. Yesterday evening, many citizens brought cameras to the West Street to shoot, And Chen Huabiao, executive director of the Fujian Astronomical Society and geography teacher of Quanzhou No. 1 Middle School, led more than 100 members of the Quanzhou No. 1 Middle School Astronomical Society to observe in real time through telescopes at the observatory on the roof of the school library.

"We started observing at 19:00, although the sky is a little cloudy but the impact is not large, the overall observation conditions are good." Chen Huabiao introduced that yesterday less than 19 o'clock, the moon has risen, but because it is too dark at the horizon, and it is blocked by clouds, it is impossible to observe. As the moon gradually rises, the "total lunar eclipse" is superimposed with the "supermoon", and the moon becomes a mysterious and beautiful bronze color, "Very beautiful! ”

"The best time to observe is around 19:30." Chen Huabiao said that although he only witnessed the second half of the total lunar eclipse, the students at the scene were very excited. "Supermoons and total lunar eclipses are not uncommon celestial phenomena, but the combination of the two is relatively rare, and the next time Quanzhou wants to see this scene again until 2025, if the observation conditions are good."

According to reports, the "super full moon" is a phenomenon in which the moon is located near the perigee during the full moon, and when the moon is running around the earth, the closest point to the earth in the orbit becomes the perigee. "The super thing is that it's closer to Earth, so it looks bigger and brighter than the average full moon, about ten percent larger than usual." Chen Huabiao said.

Why does a "red moon" occur during a total lunar eclipse? Chen Huabiao introduced that when a total lunar eclipse occurs, the earth blocks the sunlight that hits the moon, making the original bright full moon dim, but the red light in the sunlight can penetrate the earth's atmosphere and be refracted to the moon, so the moon will show a faint red during the total eclipse.
