Xianju Village of Fenkou Town is located in the southwest of Chun'an County, Hangzhou, 74 kilometers away from the county seat. Xianju Village is located at the foot of Yajiajian Mountain, along Wuqiang Creek, and is a beautiful natural ecological village with mountains and waters.
On July 31st, Wang Beibei, Yang Lei, Xiong Shijiao and Mao Fen, doctoral students from Zhejiang University who went to the research group of Researcher Lu Zhongxian of the Social Practice Detachment of the Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, under the leadership of Researcher Xu Hongxing, carried out a three-day research activity in Xianju Village, Fenkou Town, Chun'an County, Hangzhou.
On the afternoon of arriving at the experimental base, Zhang Qing, a large farmer, was already waiting by the side, and then Director Zhang introduced the basic situation of the experimental base to everyone in detail, and led everyone to visit his large agricultural machinery, including rice transplanters, harvesters, and pesticide applications.
These can be achieved from rice seedlings, transplanting, fertilization, spraying, harvesting of full mechanization operations. This improves operational efficiency and saves costs and labor with the rational use of pesticides and fertilizers.
During the investigation, the practice team members were assigned different work tasks according to the different purposes of the survey, and in the rice test field of Fenkou Town, it was necessary to count the number of 327 varieties of rice pests brown planthoppers, white-backed planthoppers, and predatory predators black-shouldered green blind lice, and various spiders, in addition to the statistics of the number of rice tillers, dry hearts and curly buds, so as to give a certain reference effect on the insect resistance of rice varieties.
Due to the huge number of samples counted, Mr. Xu also packed lightly and joined our work, and on weekdays, our four doctoral students of Zhejiang University mainly conduct molecular biology experiments related to agricultural insect and pest control in the laboratory, and rarely have the opportunity to have direct contact with agricultural production. This Fenkou trip makes us so close to nature, barefoot in the dirt, feel novel but difficult to walk, every step is serious, afraid of a careless fall into the mud man, fortunately we plant protection boys have a gentleman's character, female doctors can also smile like flowers all rely on them.
During this period, the high temperature and heat that came and went from time to time blended with the sweat of the students, the green and lovely rice leaves hospitablely left red traces of enthusiasm on the skin, the cicadas and frogs in the ears and the sound of labor converged into a tune to attract the dumb ducks, the distant green mountains were full of smoke, and the sound of water in the near distance was murmuring, which could be described as a derivative, like a brisk and lively picture of youth.
Finally, after 3 days of unremitting efforts, everyone successfully completed the task of data investigation and sample collection, and finally the practice team members concluded: This practical activity has brought us a new vision and environment, felt the hardship and persistence of front-line scientific researchers, and also exercised our minds, so that we can walk more firmly in future scientific research.
