"Woo-hoo-
Trailing tail notes, bird watching photography fans set up long guns and short cannons behind camouflage curtains, holding their breath, and the sounds of nature poured into the eardrums. Someone hears "the red fruit of the yew rustles", and someone hears "the six-and-a-half-hour sun goes down the treetops".
A scene more poetic than the red beans and the morning sun arrives as two white birds stride out. Yang Meilin held a grain jar with a long bamboo handle, and dotted millet and corn on tree trunks and rocks.
The male bird feathers are white and red- and have long tails, resembling phoenixes, and are graceful. They spread their wings and pecked along Yang Meilin's point-and-greet route, moss, streams, frolicking rare birds, and camera clicks immediately scrambled to sound densely.

The white stork is a national second-class protected animal, which is unusual elsewhere, but in Mingxi County, Sanming City, Fujian Province, in the territory of Junzifeng National Nature Reserve, it breaks into the photographer's lens in droves.
One reason is that there are many local birds in Ming Creek. Ming creek happens to be on the East Asian-Australasian bird migration route, where millions of migratory birds overwinter and breed on this thousand-year-old bird path in spring and autumn. The forest coverage rate of Mingxi is as high as 81.48%, bird resources are abundant, and there are many endangered and rare species, which is one of the counties with the richest biodiversity in China.

Another reason is that the birds have a "good friend" here. Not only the white egret, but also the yellow-bellied horned pheasant, the white-necked long-tailed pheasant, the Mandarin duck and other national first- and second-level protected animals, many of them "listen to Yang Meilin's words".
Yang Meilin is a villager in Ziyun Village, Mingxi County, Sanming City, Ziyun Village has many birds since ancient times, flocks of people foraging in rice fields, villagers have to try to prevent birds from stealing grain, driving birds to catch birds, dried birds were also once a local table dish, known as "raising chickens is not as good as fighting birds." But Yang Meilin is reluctant to hurt the living beings, even if the white bird goes out of the mountain to steal chicken and duck feed and is bitten by the dog, he is also "biased towards birds.".
In the past, Yang Meilin raised thousands of chickens and ducks at the foot of the mountain, sprinkled corn kernels, and a group of white birds also became regular customers, "I have feelings with me, just like my own family, as soon as I call."
Once, Yang Meilin found a white bird with wings stretched, crying out in mourning, presumably because the wings were broken. "I picked it up and it didn't hide." Yang Meilin recalled to the reporter of the China News Agency that he gently pinched the wings of the white bird, touched the broken bone, helped it push the bone up, bandaged the medicine, and raised it for several days. "Saving it makes me stick even more."
Yang Meilin's grandson, Yang Shuiqing, has also been passed down with great interest. In 2016, Yang Shuiqing built several bird watching spots with different landscapes in the dense forest of Junfeng Mountain in Junfeng Peak, and Yang Meilin's whistle became the assembly number for the appearance of the white bird, "officially launching the bird watching industry in Ziyun Village". In the media pen, the legendary Yang Meilin was gradually called "the bird man in the deep mountains".
In recent years, many tourists at home and abroad have come to Ziyun and followed Yang Meilin into the mountains to "meet birds". Some European tourists even made the latitude and longitude of Yang Meilin's "bird point" and "how to find Yang Meilin" into a guide, attracting more overseas friends to press Tu Suoji.
There is a Swedish couple who love China deeply, and their husband once went to Wenchuan earthquake rescue, while his wife traveled in a wheelchair with a mobility impairment. Relying on the latitude and longitude raiders found on foreign language websites, they actually came to China from thousands of miles away, and rushed to Ziyun Village to find Yang Meilin for bird watching.

Yang Meilin told the China News Service that there are two points that have changed the most in recent years: one is that the five rooms in the family have served as homestays, and the guests who eat all year round are continuous; second, no one in the village has played birds, and more and more bird watching homestays have been opened, and a few are even returned overseas Chinese who have returned from abroad.
The Yang family is in charge of Yang Meilin's daughter-in-law Rao Qiulan. Her hands and feet are very sharp, and it is not necessary to eat three decent meals by herself. Birdwatchers ate bamboo shoots and red mushrooms she dug, and taught her to make Henan braised noodles and American fried steak.
Rao Qiulan's son, Yang Shuiqing, likes to follow the scientists of Junzifeng Nature Reserve since he was a child, but Rao Qiulan "really can't understand him."
In Rao Qiulan's eyes, after his son graduated from college, he "didn't find a job well", and Shanghai, Beijing, Hainan, and Taiwan "jumped everywhere". The son repeatedly told grandpa not to drive the birds away, which also confused her, "What do wild birds feed them for?" ”

Yang Shuiqing arranged the guest rooms of his home as bird watching-themed homestays, and printed out large rare bird photos and hung them on the wall. In the courtyard, there were no more onions and garlic, but two chrysanthemums were planted, and a projection tea room was built with wood.
The village women and villagers who were diligent in their hands and feet were invited by their sons, and the college students and children of the teaching and research camp played straw shoes, made rice dumplings, and beat tea. In the past three years, the village has opened 6 homestays, and the villagers have also formed a Didi motorcade.
Tea rooms, chrysanthemums and "friends with birds"... These practices of the son are too "urban" for Rao Qiulan. Counting, the "birdwatchers" who came to her home came from more than 20 countries and regions. Rao Qiulan confessed that even she did not know how these changes occurred.

Ziyun's landscape birds and beasts are beautiful, and the staff and species experts of Junzifeng National Nature Reserve have come and gone to pass on this concept to the teenager Yang Shuiqing.
From 2014 to 2015, Yang Shuiqing, who studied at Sanming College, went to Taiwan's "University of Science and Technology of China" for exchange studies. This is a very common way of further education in Fujian Province, which is separated from Taiwan by a river.
Yang Shuiqing told reporters that his biggest gain from studying in Taiwan was the "way Taiwanese people tell stories" after visiting the Taomi community and Chishang Rice Township. "The courtyard may have only one tree, but there are endless stories to tell, even if it is a palm-sized moss, it can tell the cosmology of the ancestors from the species of moss." Yang Shuiqing said that the countryside has become full of vitality, which has given him great inspiration and made him think: "Go home and revitalize Ziyun Village." ”
In September 2015, Yang Shuiqing and his grandfather Yang Meilin contracted a mountain forest in Junfeng and selected a valley with a babbling stream as a bird watching point. Yang Shuiqing introduced to reporters that the wild yew trees in the valley are dense, and there are enough red fruits to fill the wild birds. "We have found many professional birds to conduct research and demonstration, and wild birds do not rely on Grandpa's feeding." For example, for the white orioles, the corn grains were just small snacks, while the red beans and bugs were roast meat and ribs.

In the purple cloud, the thousand-year-old bird road runs through Junzi Peak, forest depth, water beauty, mountain wonder, stone monster, in addition to the white bird, there are yellow-bellied horned pheasants, white-necked long-tailed pheasants, colored sandpipers, black-crowned falcons, three treasure birds and other "regular customers", how to create beautiful encounters without disturbing these birds? Yang Shuiqing gathered a group of like-minded bird people and rural construction enthusiasts to form a team, starting from bird research, restoring and protecting the Senzai Bird Road, and finally creating observation points.
Yang Shuiqing told reporters that what they put the most effort into was to "bring the most beautiful side of the Mingxi Bird Road to the world's lens", so "there are mountain waterfalls, shallow streams, rice fields, valleys, and even ancient temples... We have ingenious settings for each birdwatching spot."

In order to observe the flocks of birds that appear in the evening, Yang Shuiqing often goes out of the mountains at sunset. "There are more and more stars, and I always think back to the night when I went to the field with my grandfather to keep vigil to catch birds." He said, "Now I'm here for birds, and I think our society has changed too much." ”
He remembered the "Frog Republic" he had met on a farm in Yilan. It is a pond that is common in the countryside, but it has become a natural education field for tourists to show visitors the different sounds of frogs. "Before, those things in my hometown, I didn't feel beautiful at all." Yang Shuiqing said that now, however, he feels that his ears and nose are open, "I feel that the sound of birds, the sound of the wind, the sound of bamboo leaves are so beautiful, and so many people are willing to appreciate them."
Under the influence of such natural aesthetics, Yang Shuiqing's team's bird-watching point set technology applied for a national patent in one fell swoop, and they also joined hands with Xiamen University, Huaqiao University and Sanming College to develop and apply for 12 practical national patents and 5 appearance-type national patents, covering all aspects of the bird watching industry.
Many villagers found Yang Shuiqing and "applied" to build a bird watching point in their own woodland. "As soon as the Villagers of Ziyun heard the strange birds calling, the first thing they did was to take out their mobile phones and record them as bird census data." Yang Shuiqing laughed and said that 13 villagers in the village who are "full of scientific research spirit" have taken the lead in becoming "bird guides" through training.

Yang Faxi, secretary of the party branch of Ziyun Village in Xiayang Township, Mingxi County, told reporters that at the beginning, the villagers still had some concerns and doubts about bird watching tourism, and the village called for households to enter the household.
Two years ago, Yang Faxi returned from business in Russia and served as a village cadre in his hometown of Ziyun Village. He observed that although the total population is only four or five hundred people, most of them are returning to Ziyun, mostly young people in their 30s and 40s, "everyone has a little craftsmanship, which is certainly good for the village."
Luo Yesheng, 53, is also an overseas Chinese returning from Italy, and the homestay he runs focuses on forest rehabilitation, located in hundreds of acres of citrus and bamboo forests.
Chen Yisheng, deputy secretary of the Mingxi County Party Committee, is a local of Mingxi and has "feelings for wild birds from childhood to adulthood.". "Bird resources have become a rich mine connecting Mingxi's poverty alleviation and rural revitalization." "Purple clouds are not an isolated case," he said.

According to Chen Yisheng, Mingxi is exploring the model of the village-community integrated bird watching cooperative and jointly cultivating the rural ecological bird watching tourism market. At present, 5 professional bird watching cooperatives have been registered, such as Danshang, Mingxi, Fuxi, Xiabei and Ziyun. It is composed of village collectives, villagers and poor households, and shares and shares benefits.
The local government is protecting and restoring the international migratory bird channel, promoting forest health care + ecological bird watching tourism elements, and has established 12 forest health care bases such as Zhongxi, Danshang, Ziyun, Xiabei and Fuxi.
In addition, Mingxi struck a blow at illegal hunting. Set up 21 observation points in the county's deep forest secret areas to monitor important bird habitats for 24 hours; the forestry department, together with local public prosecutors, market supervision and other departments, cracked down on poaching; and the Mingxi Court issued the country's first "bird protection order" in 2018, allowing illegal hunters to voluntarily sign a letter of protection commitment.
Chi Changjiang, secretary of the Party Committee of Xiayang Township in Mingxi County, said that at present, Ziyun Village has built a Minxue Exhibition Hall, and is stepping up the construction of Minxue Village projects such as Historical Style Street, Shili Minxue Trail, Science Park, and Longxi Lake Landscape.
Zhongxi Village, Xiafang Township, Mingxi County, Sanming City, which is on the International Bird Road, is also composing another story of wild birds and village revitalization. Lu Jiming, 35, left 30 acres of paddy fields in the village as "the granary of the birds" and did not collect the grains. He and the villagers planted lotus flowers, and did not collect lotus roots in winter, but stayed behind to entertain bird friends who came to overwinter.
