Beijing, 9 Apr (Xinhua) -- Shaanxi female writer Zhou Xuanpu's novel "Duowan" has received rave reviews since it was released at the end of last year. "From the perspective of realism, Multi-Bay undoubtedly provides a good example." Li Jingze, vice chairman of the China Writers Association, believes that this is a work with repercussions and movements.
"Duowan" tells the story of the struggle and fate of four generations of a family from the countryside to the city in the span of more than 70 years, especially shaping many wonderful and moving female images, which has been praised by critics as a history of the growth of Chinese women.
At the recent seminar on works held by the China Writers Association, the participating experts believed that "Duowan" fully demonstrated Zhou Xuanpu's artistic patience, she combined family memory and artistic imagination well, reflected the changes in society with the survival struggle of small people, the narrative was grand but not lacking in delicacy, and there was great value for discussion from the perspective of writing, women, family and national history.
The novel "Duowan" is a key support work of the China Writers Association, with a total of nearly 470,000 words, which lasted eight years from conception to finalization, the work is stable and contains humanistic care, and is considered to be a literary dark horse that broke out of the Chinese literary circle in 2015.
