East Muwu Village is located in the southwest of The Left Street, surrounded by mountains on three sides, with deep scenery, gentle folk customs and mellow people, and a long history of humanities. In order to preserve the historical and cultural characteristics of Dongmuwu Village and carry forward the traditional culture of Dongmuwu, in July 2015, the Cultural Auditorium of Dongmuwu Village was built with the strong support of the Propaganda Department of the District Committee and combined with the comprehensive improvement of the urban village. Officially put into use in May 2016, it is the only rural cultural auditorium in the left street area.
Located in the center of the village, the Cultural Auditorium covers an area of more than 2,000 square meters, using the architectural style of the Hui school, with white walls and black bricks plus horse head walls, highlighting the traditional charm. The Cultural Auditorium consists of a zigzag-shaped cultural corridor that connects the folk culture exhibition hall, the auditorium, the morality lecture hall, the cultural and sports activity room, and the open-air stage into a beautiful courtyard.
The auditorium covers an area of more than 260 square meters, with a stage of 40 square meters, the installation of indoor lighting, projection, computer speakers, multi-functional jukeboxes, equipped with tables and chairs can accommodate more than 150 people, suitable for all kinds of performances, training and conferences, the wall of the auditorium is painted with four large wall paintings with Dongmuwu "Bamboo Pole Mountain, Jiuquling, Lotus Mountain, Longtan Bridge" as the creative elements, intuitively showing the beautiful scenery of Dongmuwu.
The cultural corridor sets up 16 sections such as village history and village customs, rural customs and customs, reverence for virtue and virtuousness, and beautiful homeland, which specifically introduces the historical evolution, geographical features, historical legends, and stories of the sages in Dongmuwu Village. More distinctive is the peasant paintings above the promenade, which specially invite the "new Hangzhou people" living in Dongmuwu, and draw them according to the scenes of the production and labor of the villagers in Dongmuwu in the twenty-four solar terms, vividly showing the diligence and simplicity of the Dongmuwu people.
The folk culture exhibition hall covers an area of more than 200 square meters, displaying the bamboo culture, tea culture, rice culture, farming culture and the story of Wang Jihua, a historical figure in Dongmuwu Village.
Relying on the cultural auditorium, East Muwu Village filmed a propaganda film reflecting the folk culture of East Muwu Village. The actors in the film are all played by the villagers, and the promotional film has more than 160,000 hits on Youku and has been widely forwarded by the villagers in the village. The village song "Tea Town Tea Fragrance" won the gold medal of the Hangzhou Village Song Competition. Since 2020, Dongmuwu Village has continued to strictly follow the requirements of building a five-star cultural auditorium, combined with the long history and humanistic stories of Dongmuwu Village, played the role of the "red culture" position, and built the cultural auditorium into a rural spiritual and cultural home that integrates party building meetings, cultural training and folk activities to inherit the cultural characteristics of "diligence" and "filial piety" in Dongmuwu.
