Klopp: I want the team to be calmer against West Ham

Jürgen Klopp complained west Ham's first goal was "pointless" and Aaron Creswell escaped with a "reckless" tackle in Liverpool's 3-2 defeat.

In Sunday's game, Liverpool had a chance to be just one point away from league leaders Chelsea. Against West Ham, they remained unbeaten in all competitions.

They started off badly and West Ham took a lead in the first ten minutes. Alisson's oolong ball opened the door to the game and he failed to block Pablo Fornals' corner.

Trent Alexander-Arnold equalised with a brilliant free-kick before West Ham took control of the game again.

With 20 minutes left in the game, goals from Fornals and Kurt Zuma gave the team a 3-1 lead. Divok Origi pulled a goal back for Liverpool, but West Ham saved all three points.

The result brought David Moyes' side up to third in the Premier League, while Liverpool fell to fourth.

According to BBC Sports, Klopp said after the game that he wanted his team to be "calmer" in the match against West Ham.

"Today is the most critical time. Objectives and some situations have to go the other way. Let's talk about the game, their first goal was a foul on the goalkeeper, the arm was extended to Allison's arm, how could he catch the ball? It doesn't make sense," Klopp said.

"We equalised, took full control of the game and they only pounced on the counter-attack. Our performance in the second half wasn't as clear, but throughout the 90 minutes I wish we could finish the game more calmly. They did a great job on the counter, they had quality and our second set-piece was eliminated.

"Aaron Creswell's challenge to Jordan Henderson was too reckless, even if he touched the ball before, so you have to control your body. Both situations had an impact, but West Ham didn't make a decision and they won the game.

"What can Alisson do?" That's why goalkeepers are protected. If a player raises his arm. It is an important part of the goalkeeper's body. People will say I'm making excuses, but I'm calm. You need to get a normal penalty from the referee, but he didn't.

"We conceded too many goals and that's why they had to fight back. The 1-1 score was what we wanted. It seems that we have lost some patience. We can be on the sidelines in many situations, but we can't play a role.

"They fell too deep, so it wasn't easy and you had to fight them in the last third. Some small things determine this, and some things are not good for us.

"At the crucial moments, we weren't so calm, they failed to catch us. They have 8 or 9 players when you want to throw the ball into the box, so we have to do it again, again. We didn't have enough patience.

'We can get 100 per cent better, you can't always play the best, you have to work hard for a result but they scored three goals and we didn't.
