【Synopsis】 The rich and noble ren was ordered by Mr. Feng Shui at the time of his father's burial to be buried in a coffin twenty years later, so he sought the help of the local Maoshan master, Uncle Jiu, to help with this matter. On the day of the coffin, it was found that the graveyard of Old Lady Ren was a water caving of the green fly, and her body had shown no signs of corruption for twenty years. Causing Uncle Jiu to be suspicious, he transported the coffin to his former Yizhuang. Later, old lady Ren's body turned into a zombie, and he killed old master Ren, and Uncle Nine thought that Tingting was in danger and took her into his house. The two apprentices of the Ninth Uncle, Wencai, Qiu sheng admired Tingting, and because of this, they quarreled with Ting's cousin. One night, Wen Cai was injured by a zombie in order to protect Ting, and was poisoned by the corpse, so that he slowly became a zombie, fortunately the corpse poison could be solved by glutinous rice, but Wen Cai ate the glutinous rice used to remove the corpse poison contained other miscellaneous rice, so it was ineffective. On the other hand, Qiu Sheng was also fascinated by the female ghost Xiaoyu, and was fortunately rescued by Uncle Jiu, who also found that there was miscellaneous rice in glutinous rice, so he selected glutinous rice into glutinous rice porridge and saved Wencai. Because the zombies kill people one after another, causing a fierce surge of emotions, so the headhunter, Uncle Jiu, WenCai, Qiu Sheng and Tingting joined forces to eliminate the zombies.
Shot in 1985, Mr. Zombie pioneered an important genre of Hong Kong cinema – zombie kung fu films, or "psychic kung fu films". The film was released in Hong Kong at the box office of 20 million, and no one in the same genre has broken this record so far, which has also attracted countless follow-up works, from 1986 to 1991, Hong Kong and Taiwan filmed more than 100 supernatural films about zombies, but none of them could reach the level of "Mr. Zombie".
Hui Guanying played the role of Wen Cai in "Mr. Zombie" and was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Hong Kong Film Awards. But he stuck to his principles and refused on the grounds that he should be the protagonist. He died of a heart attack at his home in Marconi Road, Kowloon Tong, Hong Kong, on 8 November 2011 at the age of 65.
Lam Cheng Ying, who played Uncle Jiu, died on November 8, 1997 at St. Teresa's Hospital in Kowloon at the age of 45. [The two died on November 8, which is only one day away from the release time of this film!] 】
"Mr. Zombie" opened the "zombie era" in Hong Kong. "Mr. Zombie" is simply the first zombie coping guide, on the one hand is the professional "paper, pencil and ink sword" (yellow paper, red pen, black ink, real knife, wooden sword) of the Taoist "Uncle Nine", and on the other hand, it is a common remedy for warding off evil spirits such as glutinous rice.
The film is rigorously produced, cleverly conceived, and the director's handling technique is compact and smooth, pushing the horror comedy films since "Ghost Fighting Ghosts" to a new climax. The film does not have a first-line star starring, but the selling rate is extremely high, ranking first among the top ten high-grossing films in Taipei in 1985.
