Hello everyone, I am "Dragon Mu" today to tell you: the emperor of the Murong family
After the rise of Murong Shi, he founded five states during the Sixteen Kingdoms period of the Eastern Jin Dynasty: "Former Yan, Later Yan, Southern Yan, Western Yan, and Tuguhun Kingdom". Among them, "the four Yan kingdoms have been brilliant for nearly a century, and Tuguhun (founded for 550 years) has the highest history."
When the territory of the Former Yan Dynasty was the largest, it "stretched from Liaodong in the east, to the Yellow River in the west, to the desert in the north, and to Huaibei in the south", and once unified the Central Plains and became the absolute first power in the world at that time.
Murong Xianbei created a unique Murong culture. The Former Yan and Later Yan dynasties created eight "most": the earliest capital city in northeast China, the earliest imperial palace in northeast China, the earliest Buddhist temple in northeast China, the earliest school in northeast China, the earliest silkworm industry in northeast China, the earliest royal garden in northeast China, the earliest imperial examination in northeast China (and even the whole country), and the earliest capital city in Beijing. Be the real "King of the Northeast"!
Former Yan kings: Murong Hui (慕容廆), Murong Hui (慕容皝), Murong Juan (慕容儁), Murong Wei (352–370) served as emperor of the third dynasty for 18 years
Murong Wei: Former Yan Emperor

Murong Wei (慕容暐): Former Emperor of Yan, courtesy name: Emperor You of Yan, courtesy name: Murong Wei (慕容暐), epithet: Jing Mao (景茂), Feng Jin Zhengshuo Xianhe (333) and Xian Kang (337) Feng Yan.)
Murong Wei (慕容暐) (350–384), courtesy name Jingmao, was Murong Juan's third son, emperor of the Late Yan Dynasty, reigned from 360 to 370.
After Murong Juan's death, the crown prince Murong Wei (慕容暐) assumed the throne as emperor, and in 360 was the first year of Jianxi, his mother Kezuhun was made empress dowager, Murong Ke was made Dazai, Murong Yu was rated as Taifu, and Mu Yougen was made Taishi.com. Murong Wei was only eleven years old when he ascended the throne, and he could not talk about managing the country at all, and the military and political affairs were all entrusted to Murong Ke.
Beginning in the second year of Former Yan Jianxi (361), with Lü Huju as the fuse, Former Yan and the Eastern Jin Dynasty launched a continuous war in the Central Plains. In February of that year, according to the Former Yan Hanoi Taishou Lü Hu who was guarding the Wild King, he sent people to secretly collude with the Eastern Jin Dynasty to jointly attack Yecheng with the Jin army, Murong Ke led 50,000 troops to attack the Wild King, and Lü Hu broke through and fled to Xingyang. In April of the fifth year of Jianxi (364), Murong Wei sent the eunuch Murong Ping and the longjun general Li Hong to attack Xuchang and Runan, defeated the Jin army at Hanghu, captured Xuchang, Runan, and Chen Commanderies, and moved more than 10,000 Jin households to You and Ji Prefectures. In February of the following year, Murong Wei sent Murong Ke and Murong Chui to lead an army to capture Luoyang. This series of battles enabled Former Yan to gain control of the Central Plains.
In the minds of the ancients, the Son of Heaven could turn danger into disaster and calm everything. In the seventh year of Former Yan Jianxi (366), there were successive floods and droughts in Former Yan, and Murong Ke and Murong Jue requested Murong Wei to be pro-government in order to turn the disaster into a blessing. Murong Wei said, Now that the Huan clan in Guanyou and the Jin clan in Jiangnan have not been eliminated, how can you leave it alone! Tear off the sheet in front of your face.
In May of the following year, Murong Ke was seriously ill, and Murong Wei went to visit him, and Murong Ke recommended Murong Chui to him, saying: "King Wu is both literate and military, Guan and Xiao Zhiya (1), if Your Majesty is in charge of the great government, the country can be safe; otherwise, Qin and Jin will have a plan to spy on him." ”②

However, after Murong Ke's death, Former Yan's military and political power did not fall into the hands of murong Chui, who was as talented and ambitious, as he had hoped, but into the hands of the incompetent and greedy Murong Jue. After Murong Jue came to power, former Yan's princes and nobles forcibly occupied private households as their own tenants, so that the number of households in the country was even smaller than that of private households, resulting in an emptiness in the national treasury. Murong Wei adopted the advice of Shangshu Zuo's servant Yue Yue and sent people to rectify the inventory of the household registration, but it attracted a wave of resentment and anger from those who had immediate benefits.
The Eastern Jin Dynasty did not abandon its plan to recover the lost territory. In the tenth year of Former Yan Jianxi (369), the Eastern Jin general Huan Wen invaded Former Yan in a big way. Murong Wei saw that the Jin army was fierce, and his soul was scattered in fright, and he prepared to flee to the capital Longcheng. Murong Chui said, "If the battle is not successful, it will not be too late to go." (1) Murong Wei immediately made Murong Chui the Governor of Southern Qi, and asked him to fight against the Jin forces together with Murong De, the Prince of Fanyang. After several fierce battles, the Jin army suffered heavy casualties and retreated.

Former Yan's successive victories excited the whole country, but some people within the ruling class began to feel uneasy. Murong Chui, the hero who defeated the Eastern Jin Dynasty, was forced by the empress dowager and murong Jue to lead his family and cronies to flee to Former Qin in November of the tenth year of Jianxi (369), and Former Yan lost its mainstay and weakened its national strength.
At this time, Former Yan Huangmen attendant Liang Chen ended his visit to Former Qin and returned to Yecheng. After liang chen's investigation of Former Qin, he felt that Former Yan's greatest enemy was Former Qin, and advised Murong Wei and Murong Wei not to take it lightly, but Murong Wei did not take Liang Chen's words to heart.
In December of the same year, Former Qin took advantage of the chaos of the Former Yan Gangji and the continuous infighting in the court, and in the name of Former Yan's failure to keep its promises, it dispatched tens of thousands of infantry and cavalry to attack Former Yan. Murong Wei ordered Murong Ping to lead 300,000 elite troops to resist Former Qin at Luchuan and Weiyuan. Murong Comment believed that the Qin army was alone and wanted to defeat the Qin army by means of a protracted confrontation. However, due to Murong Jue's greed and cruelty, the morale of the army was very low. In the Battle of Weiyuan, the Former Qin army defeated Former Yan's 300,000 troops with 60,000 people, killing and capturing more than 150,000 people, and Murong Ping fled back to Yecheng alone. After that, in just over half a year, the Former Qin army approached the capital of Former Yan. In November of the eleventh year of Former Yan Jianxi (370), Murong Wei was captured on the run, and after returning to Yicheng, he led the minister of culture and military affairs to formally surrender to Former Qin.
Jian Jian was very tolerant and made Murong Wei the Marquis of Shangshu and Xinxing. In the nineteenth year of Former Qin Jianyuan (383), Murong Jian appointed him as the general of Pingnan and the governor of Beibu, and asked him to follow him on the expedition to the Eastern Jin Dynasty, where the Qin army was defeated in the Battle of Shuishui, and Murong Wei followed Jian back to Chang'an. The following year, Murong Chui restored Yan at Xingyang and proclaimed himself the King of Yan, and Murong Hong also raised an army in Guanzhong to attack Chang'an. Murong Wei planned to kill Jian Jian to echo the two, but was killed by Jian Jian because of the leak of the incident, when Chinese New Year's Eve was five years old, and the burial place was unknown. When another of his uncles, Murong De, established Southern Yan, he made him Emperor You.
When Murong Wei ascended the throne, Former Yan was at its peak. In the early period of his reign, due to Murong Ke and other able ministers to assist the government, Former Yan was politically clear, the national strength was strong, the city was strategically attacked, and the territory was further expanded. After Murong Ke's death, Former Yan politics gradually became corrupt, resulting in unstable military morale, and popular resentment, and the mediocre and incompetent Murong Wei eventually became the king of the fallen state.
