In the thrilling revolutionary years, there was such a couple, the husband Chen Erjin was initially the captain of the gendarmerie team next to Chiang Kai-shek, and later joined the Chinese Communist Party and lurked in the top of the Kuomintang; his wife Wang Manxia was a red senior agent sent by Zhou Enlai, and both husband and wife were deeply respected and loved by Zhou Enlai. In the revolutionary era when the smoke of war was everywhere, their love story was very legendary, and the revolutionary road was also very bumpy, and they both sacrificed their precious lives for the liberation of Shanghai. At 1:30 p.m. on Friday (May 14), at the Shanghai Book City (7th Floor, No. 465 Fuzhou Road), a subsidiary of Xinhua Media, the 22nd event of the Citizens' Book Club invited Chen Erjin and Chen Guanning, son of Wang Manxia, to bring readers the "Centennial Fenghua Road" series of "They Sacrifice Before Dawn".

After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Chen Erjin came to Shanghai to take up a post, and the couple engaged in an unknown revolutionary struggle. On May 9, 1949, military agents arrested Wang Manxia, along with Chen Erjin's children, Chen Guanning, who was only 11 months old, and his wet nurse. After 1949, the Central People's Government posthumously recognized Chen Erjin and Wang Manxia as revolutionary martyrs and issued a martyr's certificate signed by Chairman Mao Zedong. In 1997, Mr. and Mrs. Chen Erjin were approved by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China as "Famous Heroes of China". In the interactive session, some readers will receive books such as "Revolutionary" and "Love Shanghai • Love Luminous Cup".

The "Citizens' Book Club" began in March 2016 as a book gathering for the public. This year coincides with the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 72nd anniversary of the liberation of Shanghai, which, as the birthplace of the Communist Party of China, contains rich red resources. This year, the Citizens' Reading Club launched the "Centennial Fenghua Road" series, using the style of the Luminous Cup of the Xinmin Evening News Supplement to tell everyone the red story of the centenary of the founding of the party. In the first event, Professor Liu Tong, a well-known expert in party history and military history, once explained the birth of the Communist Party of China. The Reading Club was guided by the Steering Committee of the Shanghai Citizens' Cultural Festival, co-sponsored by Xinmin Evening News and Century Publishing Group, and hosted by the Shanghai Civic Cultural Association and Shanghai Book City.
