It is only a small and ordinary story, but the warm texture and color of the film it has, the rustic Iranian countryside scenery, and the quiet power contained in it is extremely moving.
In the last shot of the film, in the middle of the spread homework book is a flower given by the old man to the little boy, like a gentle glance, gently brushing in the audience's heart. The film made Abbas his debut in the international film scene and won him the 42nd Cannes Film Award.

A middle-aged man drives around looking for someone to help with his suicide plan. However, the cherry tree next to the grave he had originally dug became the beginning of his new life after one night.
This is probably the simplest plot of all Abbas's films, the reason for the protagonist's suicide attempt, life background is not explained, Abbas completely uses his good long shot passages and deep field shots, without a trace to show the development of the character's psychology and story.
Finally, the open-ended ending and the crew's appearance once again cross the boundaries of reality and fiction, creating a wonderful sense of withdrawal between the audience and the film. The film also gave Abbas the title of that year's Cannes Film Festival.
"Gone with the Wind"
Life and death cannot be controlled, but nature is sought
