Earlier we tweeted articles about concentration:
Is there a relationship between a child's concentration and innate personality? That's what the experts say
Why can children be motionless when playing games?
Some parents can't wait to ask us, what are the specific scientific and effective ways to improve their children's concentration?
Today, we continue to invite Tong Yuyan, Secretary General of the Children's Creativity Development and Education Research Center of Beijing Normal University, to explain the problem of children's concentration to parents.

Tong Yuyan
Secretary-General of the Research Center for Child Creativity Development and Education of Beijing Normal University, Lecturer of Child Development and Educational Psychology at the Institute of Psychology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tutor of the National Creativity Competition for Primary and Secondary School Students, and Judge of CCTV Children's Channel "Look at Me 72 Changes"
Teacher Tong introduced that the concentration of children of different ages is different, and it is very critical to cultivate concentration according to the age characteristics of children.
0-3 years old: Children's concentration time during infancy is very short, because they have not yet established a knowledge base, and their attention is easily affected by external stimuli. At this stage, when the child is immersed in what he likes to do, parents should try not to interrupt as much as possible.
3-6 years old: Preschoolers face more stimulation, and their points of interest and focus will be on the games and toys they play. At this time, it is very important for parents to choose the right toys for their children.
6-12 years old: Children in the primary school stage are greatly influenced by teachers and peers in the process of receiving basic education, and they will develop good learning habits more effectively in school. This stage is also a critical period for children to develop friendships, parents should let children and peers interact more, they may establish common interests, such as working together to complete a thing, which is also beneficial for improving concentration.
12-18 years old: Adolescents prefer to accomplish something independently, and they will focus more on things that will bring them pleasure or will be praised by others. At this time, parents should discuss with their children, and from the things that their children are interested in, pick out one or two more outstanding points to focus on training.
For young children, hearing, vision, somatic sensation and other information is often not well integrated in the brain, if the child can be exposed to sensory integration training in early childhood, it will help to improve future concentration.
For example, many parents have played when they were young, two adults take a sheet, put the child in it, and swing back and forth, so that the child can experience the feeling of weightlessness, which is a very good sensory training. For example, if the father lifts the child high, he can also train the sensory system function.
Participating in more exercise is also a good way to carry out sensory system training, often carrying out sports can help train the balance and coordination of limbs, so that the various perceptual information is well integrated, which will be good for children's cognitive ability, memory and concentration.
In addition, there are some fun parent-child games to improve concentration:
1. Find out the word "of"
Parents read to their children, and whenever the child hears a "yes" word, he writes a stroke of the word "positive". Finally, look at how many children have heard, and compare the correct rate.
2. What's missing?
Lay out a few things, let the child watch for 1-2 minutes, then close the child's eyes, remove one or two of them, and then ask the child to say that something is missing.
Tips: You can start with a few things, wait for your child's memory to improve, and then gradually increase the number of things and the number of taken away.
3. Poker games
Take three different cards (or 3 pieces of paper of the same size and different patterns), arrange them on the table at random, choose a card to remember, such as Plum Blossom 2, let the child stare at this card, and then put the three cards upside down on the table, the parent will change the position of the three cards at will, and then let the child report where plum blossom 2 is.
Parents and children can rotate the game to gradually increase the difficulty, for example, increase the number of cards, change positions and increase the speed of card changes.
It is currently the summer vacation, which is a good time to cultivate children's concentration, and parents can effectively practice these methods in their lives.
But in summer vacation and daily life, there is another thing that worries many parents, that is, because children have more time at home, they can't control their children watching TV and playing mobile phones. To this end, parents also wrestle with their children, and even some mothers carry all the electronic devices in the home (computers, mobile phones, pads... Go to work.
Should my child watch TV and use electronic devices? How should parents correctly view the impact of electronic products on their children?
In this regard, Teacher Tong Yuyan has her own views.
She said that she is not opposed to children's access to electronic products and television, because now is the information age, children can obtain knowledge from various sources, no longer limited to books, teachers' classroom teaching and parental guidance. By watching some high-quality children's television programs, cartoons, etc., children can learn some new vocabulary and communicate with people more effectively.
Here Xiaobian also wants to say that the many high-quality cartoons broadcast by the CCTV Children's Channel, such as "Big Head Son and Small Head Dad", "Cotton Candy and Cloud Mother", etc., are from the perspective of children, by showing a warm and loving family environment, highlighting the role of smart and wise characters, which can play a good positive guiding role for children, so it has also won the love of many small audiences.

If parents regard television and electronic products as a flood beast, blindly eliminating children's contact, it will easily cause children's rebellious psychology, resulting in children indulging in it after contact. The best practice is to guide your child effectively:
1. Parents should effectively do a good job in the preliminary work, screen the content that their children watch, and select high-quality content that suits their children's age groups.
2. Pay attention to establishing a good sense of rules and time awareness for children, and improve children's self-control, so that whether it is watching TV or practicing or playing games, children can do the agreed things at the specified time.
3. If the child is still in infancy, pay attention to protecting the child's eyes, more "listening" and less "seeing", listening to stories, listening to music, listening to ancient poems, and listening to Chinese studies. Rather than intuitively seeing, listening is more likely to cause children to think and imagine.
Having learned so much about mindfulness, have parents mastered it? What do you want to share with you? Welcome to leave a message~
