The title of the chicken soup that looks like this is actually a book that his friend A.D. once wrote, which says some real things about him and his friend, trivial but warm, and the relationship between Aunt Fen and Ah Xu in "Lucky Is Me" is very appropriate to the title of the book, so it is borrowed. Life is too difficult, even once strangers should hold warm, just like Ah Xu and Aunt Fen.
I've heard many people say jokingly: the urban routine is too deep, I want to go back to the countryside. In fact, in my opinion, this is not entirely a joke, especially for people who have lived in the countryside since childhood, the traffic and lights in big cities always make newcomers feel inexplicably alienated. Especially in an international metropolis like Hong Kong, everyone is busy with their own business, and few people really stop to care about the well-being of the people around them. I think this is also the trepidation and loneliness that Ah Xu had in his heart when he first arrived in Hong Kong, just like us who drifted north, and the sense of drifting was always like a shadow.
At the beginning of the film "Lucky Me", the lonely young man Ah Xu (played by Chen Jiale) came to Hong Kong from Guangzhou with his mother's ashes to join his father who divorced his mother in the early years and re-established a family in Hong Kong, but from the simple telephone communication with his father, the director let the audience feel the indifference and strangeness of his father who had not yet appeared, so Ah Xu, who was a cook, began to make a living alone in Hong Kong. Unfortunately, the upright Ah Xu is not accustomed to the mercenary face of the hotel owner's wife, and the resolutely naked Ah Xu has encountered the tragic experience of the landlord forcing debts and beating by thugs, and at the bottom of his life, he had a chance to meet the old man Fen's aunt (Hui Yinghong), because of work frustration and life embarrassment, Ah Xu, who had nowhere to go, used "schemes" to live in Aunt Fen's old house, and the two people who had no intersection at all became temporary roommates.
A stubborn and eccentric old lady, a young and crazy young man, from meeting in Pingshui to living under the same roof, two people have their own ideas, from mutual restraint to mutual understanding, from indifference to constant concern, the friction between the two gradually becomes the best way to understand each other. In the process of gradually easing the relationship between the two people, Ah Xu found that Aunt Fen suffered from "cognitive impairment", so Ah Xu fell into a struggle again, and he was entangled in whether he was obligated to take care of Aunt Fen, who was not related to him by blood...
It is said that "Lucky Is Me" is full of irony, the blood-related father said to the police that he only has one son, which made Ah Xu's heart ache to the extreme, while aunt Fen, who is not related by blood, and Ah Xu got along more and more harmoniously, thinking of each other as a mother and son. When the indifference of the big city and the loneliness of the little people are concretely changed to Aunt Fen and Ah Xu, the audience seems to see themselves at the moment, the bustle outside has nothing to do with themselves, and the inner loneliness is always felt.
When Ah Xu is cold, he will take money from the wallet of his girlfriend who has just finished his passion, but when he is soft-hearted, he takes his brother, who should be an "enemy", to play all the amusement projects. The unique confusion of this generation is also vividly expressed in Ah Xu, just like he does not know where his future lies, he does not know how to express his love for girls, and he does not know whether he has an obligation to support Aunt Fen...
It seems that everything is overwhelmed, but life is still going on day by day, life is already difficult, if you can hold the warmth may make life become unusual.
