This year is the 70th anniversary of the death of Gao Jianfu, one of the founders of the Lingnan School, in order to commemorate this generation of painting masters, on September 30, "Shi Nature, Creative Art: Lingnan Sect Grandmaster Gao Jianfu Paintings and Works Exhibition" was held at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, more than 120 years of exhibits, in addition to 5 pieces borrowed from the University of Chinese, Hong Kong, the others are from the treasures of Gao Jianfu's disciple Li Ming and his wife, many of which are exhibited for the first time and are precious. The exhibition will run until October 27.

According to reports, this is the first exhibition of the "Resident Art Planner Scheme" implemented by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University to enhance and enrich the cultural atmosphere of the campus, and the curator is Mr. Tang Haichao, former Director General of the Hong Kong Museum of Art. Through admiring Gao Jianfu's paintings and near-finished paintings, the audience can learn how he transformed his sketches into unique paintings. In addition, the curator Mr. Deng Haichao will teach his curatorial concept and research experience of Master Gao's works in the docent training and guiding group, so that the participants can have a profound artistic experience.

It is worth mentioning that most of the paintings and works of Gao Jianfu in this exhibition are from the treasures of his disciples Li Ming and his disciples. Many important paintings have inscriptions of dawn on them, some name the paintings, some point out the year and place of the original creation, some introduce the process of the original creation, recall the past of the Spring Sleep Painting Academy, and some introduce works of the same theme... The content is numerous and varied. But what is certain is that Li Ming's inscription not only clarifies the relevant information of Gao Jianfu's paintings and the creation of works, but also provides first-hand information for gao Jianfu and even the lingnan school of painting.
In an interview with Nandu reporter, Li Ming and his wife said that they probably collected more than 1,000 paintings and works of Gao Jianfu's teacher. "Most of the paintings were not wanted when Master Weng Zhi's mother moved, and we took them home as a souvenir. At first, I did not pay attention to these drawings, but after years of collation, I did not expect to find a lot of precious materials from them. Over the years, it has been exhibited in Guangzhou, Macao, Hong Kong and Taipei, especially when it was exhibited in Taipei, and many people were reluctant to leave when it came to the withdrawal of the exhibition, and they all felt that this was a rare treasure. The paintings exhibited at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University this time have only been reviewed and sorted out in recent years, and have not been published before, and many are even the first time to meet the audience. ”
