Fuzhou, 5 May (China News Network) -- On the morning of 5 May, the Mawei Passenger Terminal of Fuzhou Port was full of people, and 142 members of the Mawei delegation led by Changjiang Dianshun, deputy district of Fuzhou Mawei District, took the Anqi passenger ship to Matsu to participate in the 12th "Two Horses" Sports Friendship Tournament.

The "Two Horses" Sports Friendship Tournament was first held in 2006, hosted by Mawei and Matsu in turn, and this year is the twelfth year of the "Two Horses" Sports Friendship Tournament, and the cultural and sports exchanges between the "two horses" have made new breakthroughs and the ties have become closer.

According to reports, this year's "two horses" sports fraternity will last for 4 days, Mawei District sent a total of 94 athletes, Matsu team a total of 130 members to participate, the number of participants is the highest in the past. 224 athletes from both sides of the strait will compete in the same field in nine competitions to enhance exchanges.

In the 9 events set up this year, in addition to the traditional ping-pong, basketball, croquet, tennis, badminton, bicycle, road and off-road competitions, this year's competition also added "old horse basketball game" and junior baseball competition.

After last year's game of play at Horsetail, this year's "Old Horse Basketball Team" is once again out, and athletes with an average age of 50 or older will once again collide with sparks on the field. Wang Yu, deputy head of the Mawei delegation, is not only a member of the "Old Horse Basketball Team", but also a participant in the negotiations on the two-Horse agreement. "On August 4, 2001, after the signing of the 'Two Horses' agreement, I set foot on matsu's land for the first time. This is my fifth visit to Matsu, and this tournament we all have the mentality of friendship first, competition second, mainly thinking that Matsu will be an old friend. Matsu's 'old horse basketball team' also has a participant in the negotiation of the two-horse agreement, Zhang Longde, and we have long been in contact to meet again in Matsu. ”

At the opening ceremony of the friendship competition, the "two horses" children's choir from both sides of the strait will also sing on the same stage, and three Fuzhou songs "Opposite Cuo", "Birds Fly" and "Spring Song" will sing a strong shrimp oil flavor for this event.
