Many people only know that the commander of the new China's air force is Liu Yalou, who is the political commissar of the air force? It seems to be less famous. The first political commissar of the Air Force was General Xiao Hua, who served a very short term, and after Xiao Hua, the Air Force did not have a political commissar for a long time, until 1957, when another general of the Northeast Field Army was appointed to take over as the political commissar, and he was Wu Faxian.

Wu Faxian is a native of Yongfeng, Jiangxi, who joined the Red Army at the age of 15 and joined the Party at the age of 17. Wu Faxian participated in the anti-"encirclement and suppression" struggle in the Central Soviet Region, and after walking through the 25,000-mile Long March, he has always been a general of the Red First Army. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Wu Faxian served as a general in the 115th Division and later joined the Third Division of the New Fourth Army.
The Third Division advanced to the northeast and formed a second column, with Liu Zhen as its commander and Wu Faxian as political commissar. At that time, Liu Yalou was the chief of staff of the Northeast Field Army, and naturally he was the head of Wu Faxian. In the Battle of Tianjin, Liu Yalou was the commander-in-chief of the front line, and he unified the command of five main columns to attack Tianjin, and Wu Faxian's second column was also under the command of Liu Yalou.
The second column was reorganized into the Thirty-ninth Army, and Wu Faxian was the military political commissar. The Thirty-ninth Army was subordinate to the Fourteenth Corps led by Liu Yalou, and in this sense, Wu Faxian became a veritable subordinate of Liu Yalou.
After the establishment of the Air Force, Wu Faxian initially served as deputy political commissar, and for a long time, he was a subordinate of Liu Yalou. Liu Yalou was the founding general, and Wu Faxian was a lieutenant general. Wu Faxian is 5 years younger than Liu Yalou, who is both his chief and his eldest brother, and he certainly has great respect for Liu Yalou.

In 1957, Wu Faxian served as the political commissar of the Air Force, partnering liu Yalou. He, the political commissar, was very respectful to Liu Yalou, and everything was based on Liu Yalou's opinion, and Wu Faxian even called on the air force to have such an attitude. Wu Faxian had his own reasons, saying that Commander Liu was a man trusted by Chairman Mao and an excellent commander with rich experience. Chairman Mao praised the Air Force many times. After the rupture of Sino-Soviet relations, many Soviet experts withdrew, and many departments simply disposed of the Soviet translators, dismissing those who should be dismissed, and changing their careers; Liu Yalou's air force was not the case.
Liu Yalou believes that it is not easy to train a translator, and these Russian translators are still very useful. This is the opposite of everyone. After Chairman Mao knew about it, he said a word, Liu Yalou liked to have the final say, and the Air Force let him have the final say. Chairman Mao trusted Liu Yalou so much, wu Faxian certainly respected him even more.

Wu Faxian's respect and love for Liu Yalou is sincere. In 1964, Liu Yalou was seriously ill, originally cirrhosis, because it was found late, it soon developed into liver cancer, had to be admitted to the hospital, and never returned to work. Liu Yalou wanted to work, but the cruel cancer cells devoured his health.
During Liu Yalou's hospitalization, political commissar Wu Faxian and the members of the Standing Committee of the Air Force guarded his bedside day and night, and Wu Faxian said sadly to Liu Yalou: "Commander, the Air Force is still waiting for you to go back to the helm. ”
Wu Faxian is not wrong, Liu Yalou is the helmsman of the Air Force, and the Air Force really can't do without him. On May 7, 1965, Liu Yalou finally stopped breathing, Wu Faxian cried into tears, he could not sleep at night, busy before and after, to help deal with Liu Yalou's aftermath, but also personally wrote a touching and heartfelt memorial article.
Premier Zhou said that Liu Yalou is gone, and it is difficult to select the commander of the Air Force. In the end, Wu Faxian took over as the commander of the Air Force.
