LEGO IDEAS: 50th Anniversary of Disney's LEGO Ghost Mansion

Welcome back to the "Respectable Fallen Students" feature! Today we continue to focus on the LEGO creative master submissions, but over 10,000 likes but did not select works for mass production.

In the first issue, we discussed the Disney-related IP, which may become a "sufficient condition" for the work to be shut down. Adhering to the principle of fairness and impartiality, multi-sampling and multiple evidence, a group of Disney-related Wanzan fell on the list. The Haunted Mansion: 50th Anniversary from @goodolprice.

The work pays homage to the opening of Disneyland® Orlando and the 50th anniversary of the Ghost Mansion. Start directly with Disneyland facilities, and be brave!

There are two Disneylands in the United States, the first known to have been built in 1955 by Walt Disney, in Los Angeles, California. The other is Disneyland in Orlando, Florida, which was built in 1971.

The haunted mansion is a classic indoor dark ride at Disneyland. It boasts an interesting theme of "In this haunted house, there are 999 happy ghosts, do you want to be the thousandth?" ”

In 1971, the Magical Kingdom area of Orlando Disneyland opened, and a grand event was held in August of that year to commemorate Walt Disney, followed by a Walt Disney-based ghost in the Magical Kingdom, hidden in the Ghost Mansion, where only a limited number of guests in a specific location could see him when the rides were open. It can be said that it is quite a legendary Easter egg!

In 2003, Disney also made a movie of the same name for Ghost Mansion (Chinese translated as "Ghost House"), starring the famous movie star Eddie Murphy. The location is the ghost mansion of the Magical Kingdom. Its purpose is to use the film as a publicity to attract more tourists.

Unfortunately, I haven't been to Disneylando and can only learn about it through movies.

So now let's switch our perspective to @goodolprice's "The Haunted Mansion: 50th Anniversary" and carefully savor this wonderful Wanzan work.

The theme building basically restores the composition of the ghost mansion. Typical of the British red brick architectural style, heavy coordination rather than complete symmetry between left and right, large slope double-slope roof effectively avoid snow. The cornice is lightweight and mimics the stylistic features of a wooden structure. The walls are made of red brick as the finishing material. The chimney is erect and towering, and the round glass corner tower is quite charming.

The author chose gray bean green to replace the gray roof of the original building, making the whole building more colorful, revealing some sense of age baptized by acid rain. The texture treatment of roofs, red brick walls and corner feet is an absolute LEGO quality standard. I can't help but think of the 71044 Disney train station.

Turning to the internal structure, the area is clearly divided, and there are many functions, let's talk about them one by one. On the first floor of the middle area, there is a painting of armor and crooked candlesticks, which shows the atmosphere of horror, while the crystal balls and hourglasses on the second floor add a mysterious atmosphere.

Now come to the study on the first floor. A plaster statue is placed in a floor-to-ceiling bookshelf. The khaki beige glossy surfaces on the walls should refer to the oil paintings in the mansion, which are later supplemented by stickers. As well as the fireplace that is indispensable to the classical study, well, there is that smell.

On the second floor is a piano room where you can see the texture of the floor and walls more clearly. The small piano on the right side of the room won my heart.

Next, on the other side of the first floor, on the other side of the restaurant, there is a magnificent classical long table with hearty food that does not look fresh, after all, it is a haunted house. Four guests can sit and dine at the same time. There is also an organ in the restaurant, the source of the Gothic style! The open ceiling strengthens the depth of the dining room space, and behind the seats is the staircase leading to the second floor, do you dare to go upstairs alone?

The terrace on the second floor is also not to be missed, the heavy curtains are airtight, and ghosts may come out from behind the curtains at any time.

The attentive author also provided 8 character figures for the set. Each has a different identity and wears different decorations.

The set contains 2900+ multi-piece parts, and the scale and shape are all first-class. So it reached Wanzan support as scheduled.

Compared to previous submissions, "The Haunted Mansion: 50th Anniversary" explicitly restores the architecture inside Disneyland. Lego itself has official label cooperation with Disney, such as 71040 Disney Castle and 71044 Disney Train Station. Maybe they just want to classify all the iconic buildings or elements in Disneyland under the official label.

Not passing the final mass production selection is a pity for every author who participates in the creative master submission. High-level moc players like @goodolprice have good shaping and creative skills. Instead of reproducing the scene of an IP, I look forward to seeing his original idea work in the future.

Well, that's all there is to it, so feel free to share your thoughts with us in the comments section, and of course don't forget to like and bookmark. I'm Si Tao, we'll see you next time!
