Recently, 33 caring people in Yuanping City donated 100,000 catties and 300,000 yuan worth of Yuanping "Tongchuan Crispy Pear" in two times, which were sent to the frontline of the fight against the epidemic in Wuhan and Taiyuan.
The original Pingtong River is a famous pear and fruit producing area in China. In 2013, the original flat crispy pear was recognized as a geographical indication of agricultural products by the Ministry of Agriculture. Up to now, there are nearly 30,000 fruit merchants in Tongchuan, and they have now spread all over the country. They not only do the pear business, but only engage in the domestic and foreign banana trade, and tongchuan fruit merchants account for more than 80% of the country's share. As a core township in the "Old Tongchuan" area, Dongshe Town, Yuanping City, is known as the "Crispy Pear Base".
During the epidemic prevention and control period, the Yuanping Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government made a decision to donate the city's specialty "Tongchuan Crispy Pear" to Wuhan after learning of the serious shortage of fruits and vegetables in the epidemic area of Wuhan. The party committee and government of Dongshe Town immediately responded and implemented, and contacted the fruit farmers who intended to donate at the first time. In just two days, 15 party members and cadres and more than a dozen pear farmer volunteers in the town spontaneously organized and donated 100,000 kilograms of high-quality crispy pears.
After learning that the majority of fruit farmers have a strong intention to donate, the Yuanping Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government immediately deployed forces to carry out work, coordinated and docked with the relevant departments of Wuhan City and Taiyuan City in a timely manner, and determined the way of receiving donations and the timetable and route map of transport vehicles in a very short time. At the same time, the Yuanping City Epidemic Prevention and Control Leading Group opened up a green channel for the donation operation in accordance with relevant regulations and requirements to ensure that the pears can be transported to the destination in the fastest time.
On February 17 and February 21, 100,000 kilograms of Yuanping "Tongchuan Crispy Pear" donated by 33 caring people were sent to the Wuhan Red Cross Hospital and the Taiyuan Fourth People's Hospital, the designated treatment hospital for pneumonia in Shanxi Province, in two batches.
