Yuanping Tongchuan, located in the east of Yuanping City, is the general name of the three townships of Shangzhuang, Dongshe and Nanbai.
Surrounded by mountains, ravines and ravines, undulating slopes, leeward to the sun, abundant sunshine, mild climate, and a river running through the whole territory, it is a good place for the development of pear and fruit production.
As early as 2,000 years ago, farmers here began to cultivate pear fruit trees, known as "Dongshan Cash Cow".
In mid-April, the day when the pear blossoms of Yuanpingtongchuan in Xinzhou City bloomed, the beautiful scenery of 100,000 pear blossoms competing to open attracted citizens from the surrounding cities of Taiyuan, Xinzhou, Dingxiang and Yuanping to travel to enjoy the spring flowers.
"Tongchuan Crispy Pear" has been rated as a national famous and rare product, and Tongchuan has also been recognized as a crispy pear base, which is one of the four major pear-producing areas in the country.
In 2005, Tongchuan was rated as a demonstration site for agricultural tourism in Shanxi Province.
