1: Unexpected tour
The film takes place about 60 years before the first installment of the Lord of the Rings series, and tells the story of the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, the uncle of the protagonist of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Frodo, with the wizard Gandalf and 13 dwarves traveling east across Middle-earth in search of precious treasures belonging to dwarves seized by dragons.
The whole story revolves around Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freiman), a hobbit who embarks on a legendary adventure to reclaim the lonely dwarf kingdom completely destroyed and occupied by the terrifying fire-breathing dragon Smaug. With the sudden visit of his best friend Gandalf (Ian McLean), the Grey-Robed Wizard, Bilbo discovers that he is part of an expedition of 13 dwarves.
Their destination is far east, an uncultivated terra nullius in the Lonely Mountains, so the first test they have to face is how to escape from the goblin's tunnels– it is here that Bilbo meets Gollum (Andy Serkis), a key figure who will change his life.
Having to walk alone with Gollum, all the way down the underground river, the humble and courteous Bilbo found not only a deep sense of sincerity and courage in the process, but even he himself was amazed that he had obtained the "treasure" that Gollum regarded as life, and even mastered how to use it—such a seemingly simple and unsurprising golden ring, but in a way that Bilbo did not yet understand, decided the fate of the entire Middle-earth world.
2: The Battle of Smaug
"Hobbit" Bilbo Baggins is embroiled in a journey to reclaim the Lonely Mountain, the treasure trove of the Dwarves, a place occupied by the evil dragon Smaug.
As we got closer to the LoneLy Mountain, the road of the Dwarven Expeditionary Force became extremely difficult.
They evade the relentless pursuit of the Pale Half-Orcs, splitting up with Gandalf (Ian McKellen) in front of the Dark Jungle, who travels to Dolgo to find out Sauron's movements, while hobbit Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman Martin John C. Freeman) and the dwarves are attacked first by giant spiders and then by the elven prince Legolas (Orlando Bloom as) and his wood elf companions captured.
Bilbo is in a hurry and uses the Rings to rescue his companions, which leads to a spectacular tripartite battle between the Wood Elves, half-orcs, and the Dwarven Expeditionary Force. With the help of Bud (Luke Evans), their weary dwarves temporarily settled in the town of Long Lake. 3: The Great Battle of the Five Armies
The brave hobbit Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) and his party tell the awakened dragon Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch) that they are going to regain their homeland, but they are unknowingly pushed deeper into the darkness of the world by a powerful and deadly force, while the furious dragon Smaug directs endless anger at the men, women and children of Long Lake.
