In 1999, Becky Harmon joined the WNBA, playing for the New York Liberty (1999-2006) and the San Antonio Silver Star (2007-2014). He has been named to the WNBA All-Star Team six times in his career, the first team of the WNBA All-NBA twice, the second team of the All-NBA twice, the assist king of the WNBA in 2007, and the top 15 superstars in the history of the WNBA in 2011. At the WNBA draft on April 4, 2007, Harmon and the Liberty were exchanged for the 2008 second round picks to the San Antonio Silver Star in exchange for the 2007 WNBA leader Jessica Davenport. In the 2006–07 season, Harmon averaged 20.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game. In the 2007–08 season, Harmon averaged 17.6 points and 4.9 rebounds per game, leading silver stars to the playoffs for the second consecutive year with a WNBA best of 24 wins and 10 losses, beating sacramento monarchs and los Angeles sparks and winning the Western Conference championship, but was swept by Detroit shock in the Finals. In the 2008–09 season, Harmon averaged 19.5 points and 5.0 assists per game, leading the team to a 15-19 record in the regular season. In the semifinals of the women's basketball team at the Beijing Olympic Games, the Russian women's basketball team met the American women's basketball team in a narrow road. A detail before the game was emotional, when the U.S. national anthem was played, Harmon, like the U.S. players, put his right hand on his chest and saluted his homeland. And when the Russian national anthem sounded, Harmon lowered his right hand. Unfortunately, Harmon, who had previously performed well, played abnormally under the tight defense of his fellow Americans, scoring only 3 points, and Russia also lost by 15 points. On July 23, 2014, Becky Harmon officially announced his retirement. On August 6 of the same year, Becky Harmon was hired by the NBA San Antonio Spurs as an assistant coach, becoming the first full-time female assistant coach in NBA history. In October 2017, Becky Harmon was inducted into the San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame.
