Dong Zhong, an artist's inheritance and creation

What is art?

Is it the six arts of a gentleman: etiquette, music, archery, imperial court, book, number? Or literature, painting, sculpture, music, film, etc.? Or is it a creative way?

For today's protagonists, art is a treasure left by the predecessors and their own inheritance and creation.

On July 26th, Chibaru and Saku Hunter Shop were a little different and more lively than ever. After the epidemic, the first offline "Intensive Reading Hall" welcomed the well-known contemporary artist - Dong Zhong, to share with you the five art masters who have the deepest influence on him.

Starting from the Renaissance, Dong Zhong showed his influence and told his experience by sharing the painting styles and techniques of five artists, Jeronis Bosch, Leonardo da Vinci, Éleco, Wang Meng, and Francis Bacon.

Tell everyone that an artist's talent is very important, but it is necessary to understand the history of art and to understand what artists are doing now. Know the past, look at the future, and base yourself on the present.

Starting from the early brightly colored plum blossom series, to the later hyenas and "hair monsters", and then to the new scene-based narrative, Dong Zhong's painting expression has roughly undergone a process of change from schema to pen and ink interest to drama, of which the mystery that has never changed is full of barbaric atmosphere. In recent works, this mystery can be seen being cut into a strong chiaroscuro contrast by the hard contour lines, so that the pen and ink details that have not been reduced are very low-key, and the sense of ceremony is further strengthened and produces an inexplicable sense of solemnity.

- World Art

self

Art is to express our views on the world in which we live in a personal way, and what art should focus on is the invisible world, the unknowable future archaeology.
