Today, in Guiyang, Guizhou, Dong Chong's solo exhibition opened.
The so-called opening is not a common "gong, drum, firecracker, firecracker and flag display"...
It is a bunch of people who love Dong Zhong and love contemporary art, and in the designated time, they concentrate on looking at paintings and discussing paintings... This is very much in line with the international convention of the opening of contemporary art exhibitions.
Dong Zhong's exhibition, the number of works is not much, about 10 or 20. But each one is very "Dong Zhong"!
I remember that about ten years ago, I received a picture album from Dong Zhong, and the impression at that time was that the painting style was trendy, the works were bright, the subject matter was different, and the unique new path was split.
Later, working with Dong Zhong, I occasionally talked about some art topics, and I knew Dong Zhong's admiration for art history and Dong Chong's enthusiasm for rock music.
Participating in this exhibition is not a fancy. I really want to quietly read Dong Zhong's paintings and feel his breath.
But when it comes to works of art, everyone's interpretation may be very different. Unlike mathematics, there is only one.
Dong Zhong's characters are interesting. In my opinion, there are at least three points of interest: the gender is not clear; the hair is very lush; and the hands are not idle.
Like the literary scholars' careful words, each brushstroke of the painter is estimated to have its own statement, not to mention, this is Dong Zhong's carefully created logo.
The so-called logo is the expression of the image, which is replaced by the jargon of the painter, called language.
A painting, either the painter wants you to see something, or the painter himself wants to express something... The two seem contradictory, but there are also times when they are combined.
Some paintings in the world, like commercial movies, are mixed and smooth, but the disadvantage is that they pass away with the wind.
Some paintings, like art films, are obscure and difficult to understand, but people who love ta are willing to dig out their hearts and livers.
Dong Chong should belong to the latter.
I don't know the history of art, nor do I know the strict classification of paintings.
But in the small exhibition hall, I was still moved by Dong Zhong's unique and arduous and tireless artistic pursuit.
It is difficult to be an ordinary person, let alone an artist.
I am speculating that the birth of each of Dong Zhong's works may have experienced a series of entanglements such as concepts, themes, compositions, color relationships, visual effects, etc. During this period, the feelings of the general public will certainly be taken into account, but it is more likely that the drive and questioning of his own soul is the final basis for his decision to write.

Dong Zhong knew the Mandate of Heaven. The "recognition" and "awareness rate" of his works are beyond doubt.
I just sincerely hope that While Dong Zhong has achieved a complete success in this exhibition, he will become the starting point, and his future painting creation will be more, better, and higher.
