I'm an ordinary person.
Have a seemingly ordinary family, a simple job,
And I've never done anything earth-shattering.
I have a list,
Every beautiful little thing is listed above.
I record them because I need them,
This story will start from my childhood,
Stories about me and the depression around me...
"I want to give this show Amway to everyone"
"Probably one of the funniest theatrical works about 'depression'"

The Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre's play "Every Wonderful Little Thing" is adapted from the work of the same name by British screenwriter Duncan Mark Milan, and the original script was nominated for the "Drama Desk Award" in 2015. The Guardian once described it as "probably one of the funniest plays you'll ever see about 'depression' in your life".
Every wonderful little thing
The work takes the protagonist who is plagued by depression as the first perspective, carefully interprets the story of the protagonist and his mother suffering from depression and the people around him, in order to find the hope for a better life, the protagonist in the play collects a million happiness lists, from which the title is derived.
Since its premiere, the drama "Every Wonderful Little Thing" has touched and healed countless audiences: "I want to give this drama Amway to everyone" "Laughter and crying coexist, the moment you walk out of the theater, it feels good to be alive, it's good to laugh, it's good to cry." "The name of the little fresh, but directly hit the death and pain, more than eighty minutes make people feel a lot, long unforgettable..." Can make the story of this tribe written in the United Kingdom resonate deeply with domestic audiences, depending on the clever localization of the play.
The protagonist of the play is set as a post-80s youth, in order to cure the depressed mother and the self who was defeated by life, "I" recorded all the happy little things in life, including childhood candy, there are also "ten" characters plucked out on the mosquito bag with fingernails, and there is more sweet and beautiful sinus. A series of "tears of the times" such as yellow peach cans, pencil cases with gourd baby patterns, glass marbles, water fights, "Walking the Road of Life" and peeking at TV for fear of being discovered run through the whole play, and there are many small things that make people smile and feel empathy.

Yang Haoyu, who played the "old fritter" of Shanghai's uncle in the hit drama "An Jia", left a deep impression on the audience with his vivid and solid acting skills, he is the "Uncle Gong" in "Dragon Gate Dart Game", and also the "Old Ho" in the movie "The Wandering Earth". This actor, who can freely switch between drama and comedy, has never stopped his enthusiasm for the drama stage.
In "Every Wonderful Little Thing", he played an ordinary person and completed the test of "one-man show" brilliantly, and his strong control and explosive power also made the audience unforgettable: "The main actor is full of emotions, improvised and orderly" "Teacher Yang Haoyu supported the whole scene for 90 minutes, and he can always attract the attention of all the audiences and follow the emotional ups and downs, which is really great." "When he first took over the play, Yang Haoyu hardly hesitated." I don't expect how many people's trajectories will be changed through this play, but at least for 90 minutes, I want to make the audience in the theater happier. ”
The show's director Xie Shuai and lead actor Yang Haoyu have collaborated in a number of dramas and film and television works, following the Broadway classic stage play "When Adam Meets Eve" for the second time to direct single comedy. For director Xie Shuai, "Every Wonderful Little Thing" is "difficult in the conversion of joy and sorrow".

The script provides a unique combination of joy and sorrow for such a heavy proposition as "depression", but if the audience is only immersed in joy, it will lose the core of the deep meaning of the play, and the switching between joy and sorrow and the balance of light and heavy are the first places that attract him to this play. After meeting the audience in "Every Wonderful Little Thing", some people saw the music from it, and some people read the sadness from it, a play, providing a variety of entry angles, leaving room for the watcher to think.
I think we did not do this play to provide medicine to treat depression, we hope to expound the proposition of 'depression' from different angles, and arouse everyone's attention and concern for depression.
