On April 11, 1945, as World War II drew to a close and the capture of Berlin was just around the corner, the German soldiers who had been on their toes and roamed everywhere began to look like dogs that had lost their families, and a large number of deserters appeared in the army.
Holod, a 19-year-old young soldier, is one of them.
Desertion is a taboo for the army, and the crime should be executed, Hao Luo was discovered by a nearby officer in the process of escape, which was difficult to fly, but the officer was full of heart and wanted to use Hao Luo to play a real hunting.
Eventually Holod ran into the woods, escaped the officer's hunt, and recovered a life.
Although he survived, Holod's life was not good. In order to satisfy his stomach, he took advantage of the night to run to the farmhouse to steal eggs, but found that the villagers' hatred for the thieves was deep in the bone marrow, and if he caught, he would be killed.
Horrified, Holod could only hide in the woods again.
Just when he was hungry and unclothed, he found a discarded jeep on the edge of the woods. Holod found food in the car, as well as a suit of clothing, inlaid with multiple medals showing the noble status of his master, the rank of captain.
Perhaps out of curiosity or vanity, Holod, who had eaten enough, changed into this officer's uniform, combed his oily head, and began to play the captain by the car alone.
Imposing majesty and official tone, Hao Luo's "fake captain" played a similar role.
Just as he was indulging in self-amusement, a soldier suddenly appeared, who claimed to have been separated from the original troops. But by looking at his dress and dodgy eyes, he could be identified at a glance—a deserter like Holod.
In the face of a 19-year-old "captain" who is alone, the soldier may not have doubted the true identity of the other party, but he and Holod tacitly did not expose each other's lies. The two quickly formed a team, with Holod as the captain and the deserter as the driver, so that the captain Hader had his first subordinate.
Hao Luo, who was dressed in a well-dressed manner, seemed to have found self-confidence, and took the driver to openly enter an inn to cheat, claiming that he was paying war compensation for the government, which was warmly welcomed by everyone and won a free barbecue.
Although he was already hungry, Holod's acting skills were not covered, and in the face of tempting roast meat, he controlled the urge to devour, holding a knife and fork and chewing gracefully, living out the appearance of a high-ranking general.
In the middle of the night, the villagers caught a deserter and demanded that the captain be executed.
For the 19-year-old Holod, he did not have much experience in killing, so his hesitation and fear could be seen, but in order to convince everyone, he still raised his gun very restrainedly and shot the deserter.
Perhaps from this moment on, Hao Luo's heart has undergone a substantial change, and the medal on his body not only brings him a false identity, a free dinner, but also allows him to control the power of life and death, and power is addictive.
After leaving the village, Holod did not remove his disguise, but instead collected the deserters he encountered along the way and established a team of his own, the "Holrod Task Force".
And when this impostor army encountered the inspection of the real army, when the captain, Holod, who was accustomed to captains, was also in danger, he casually added another title to himself - the envoy directly responsible to the Fuehrer, and in turn asked to check the other side's documents.
In the past and back, Holod gained the trust of the army and was invited to the deserter camp where the deserters were being held.
The lives and deaths of hundreds of lives in the deserter battalion thus fell into the hands of Holot, although he was also a deserter, but Holod obviously did not have any sympathy for the people in front of him, and he advocated the execution of all deserters.
And the methods were extremely cruel - bombing deserters with anti-aircraft guns.
When someone came out to intercede, Holod even uttered a sentence of "great righteousness" - "they are dead, either way", I wonder if he realized that he was also a dead deserter when he said this, or whether he really regarded himself as a captain completely.
In the end, Holod's deeds were revealed and arrested, and he was supposed to be executed with hundreds of lives, but ironically, the high-ranking Nazi officials interceded for him, believing that he had excellent combat leadership and wanted him to make up for it on the battlefield.
But Holod became a captain for the sake of official pleasure, not to go to war, and eventually Holrod escaped again, walking into the forest covered with white bones without turning his head.
If you think the story itself is already shocking, or ridiculous, then even more frightening is yet to come.
In the final menu of the film, the director arranges for Holod to walk on the streets of contemporary Berlin with makeup, similar to a tricky show, interrogating and inspecting passers-by in a high-spirited manner by Nazi soldiers.
In "Hitler is Back", this method must be laughed at by everyone, but guess what, the unsuspecting ordinary people do not resist in the face of such an inexplicable mob, but obediently cooperate with the inspection.
At that moment, the shock of the film reaches the extreme, do not think that the Nazi rampage in World War II is unreasonable, it turns out that if there is a second Hitler in the world, we will still be crushed under our feet.
