China Quality News Network News (Hiroshima) Recently, the Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Market Supervision issued a notice on the sampling of 1390 batches of food safety (No. 36 of 2021), marking that the total number of colonies detected by 1 batch of mille-feuille bean paste bread (production date/batch number: 2021-06-01; specification model: 120g/bag) produced by Chongqing Gulaixiang Food Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Gulaixiang Food Company") was detected to exceed the standard.
It is understood that the total number of colonies is an indicator of microorganisms, not an indicator of pathogenic bacteria. It is mainly used to evaluate the cleanliness of food and reflect whether the food meets the hygiene requirements in the production process. The reason why the total number of colonies exceeds the standard may be that the initial number of colonies of raw materials is high, or individual enterprises may not strictly control the sanitary conditions of the production and processing process according to the requirements, the cleaning and disinfection of packaging containers and utensils is not in place, and it may also be related to the lax sealing of product packaging and improper control of storage and transportation conditions.
The Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Market Supervision said that the local market supervision and management department has started the investigation and punishment of the unqualified products found in the above sampling inspection in accordance with the requirements of the Food Safety Law, and has taken risk control measures to find out the flow of products, recall and remove unqualified products, analyze the causes and rectify them.
China Quality News Network noted that Gu Laixiang Food Company has repeatedly exposed unqualified food.
On August 26, 2019, the Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Market Supervision issued a notice on the sampling of 514 batches of food safety (No. 28 [2019]), showing that the cream bread (baked pastry) nominally produced by Chongqing Gulaixiang Food Co., Ltd., dehydroacetic acid and its sodium salt (in terms of dehydroacetic acid) did not meet the requirements of the national food safety standards.
It is reported that dehydroacetic acid and its sodium salt as a food additive, widely used as a preservative, has a strong inhibitory effect on mold. The National Standard for Food Safety and the Standard for the Use of Food Additives (gb 2760-2014) stipulate that dehydroacetic acid and its sodium salt in pastries shall not exceed 0.5g/kg. Long-term consumption of dehydroacetic acid and its sodium salt exceeding the standard products may have a certain impact on human health.
In addition, Tianyancha data shows that Gu Laixiang Food Company has two administrative penalties, and the reasons for the punishment involve unqualified food sampling.
