Reed Hansuld, a furniture designer from Brooklyn, New York, designed a rocking chair called Rocking Chair One, which focused on the cantilever structure of the chair.
The rocking chair is made of black walnut, and the steel frame that supports the chair is clearly visible, telling people that without these frames, it is impossible to complete the furniture of this cantilever structure. The curved black walnut seats and backrests warm the cold industrial material of steel.
The rocking chair's cantilever structure allows the seat and backrest to sway slightly back and forth independently, making the rocking chair more dynamic.
The rocking chair is currently custom-made, allowing users to choose from sizes, woods, shades and decorative materials for $9,600.
