Genius Yan Wenqing

Yan Wenqing, male, born in 1967 in Tangshan City, Hebei Province, influenced by his family and neighbors, Yan Wenqing has loved chess since childhood, coupled with talent and intelligence, he will play chess at the age of five or six, and he can play chess with adults as a teenager. Later, under the introduction of local chess player Cao Xiaobao, Yan Wenqing rapidly improved his chess skills under the guidance of Chen Chunjiang, a famous coach in Tangshan, and Cheng Fuyin, a Kailuan chess player.

In 1982, at the age of 15, Yan Wenqing participated in the provincial chess tournament for the first time and won the second place in the junior group. After entering the provincial chess team in 1983, under the careful guidance of Liu Dianzhong and Li Laiqun, two famous domestic chess masters, Yan Wenqing has made great progress in many aspects such as skills and psychological quality. Yan Wenqing began professional training in 1983. Yan Wenqing's chess style is rigid and soft, cleverly conceived, proficient in chess theory, innovative in layout, and is the representative of the "Tao-seeking School", known as "layout expert".

Yan Wenqing is currently the head coach of Hebei Chess Team.

He won the fourth place in the national individual in 1990, the third place in the Asian individual in 1991, the second place in the national individual in 1998, and was the main member of the Hebei team in the 1985, 1997 and 1998 national team championships, the team champion and individual runner-up at the 6th World Chess Championship in 1999, and the team runner-up in the 2000 National Sports Conference.
