Yan Wenqing, male, born in 1967 in Tangshan City, Hebei Province, influenced by his family and neighbors, Yan Wenqing has loved chess since childhood, coupled with talent and intelligence, he will play chess at the age of five or six, and he can play chess with adults as a teenager. Later, under the introduction of local chess player Cao Xiaobao, Yan Wenqing rapidly improved his chess skills under the guidance of Chen Chunjiang, a famous coach in Tangshan, and Cheng Fuyin, a Kailuan chess player.

In 1982, at the age of 15, Yan Wenqing participated in the provincial chess tournament for the first time and won the second place in the junior group. After entering the provincial chess team in 1983, under the careful guidance of Liu Dianzhong and Li Laiqun, two famous domestic chess masters, Yan Wenqing has made great progress in many aspects such as skills and psychological quality. Yan Wenqing began professional training in 1983. Yan Wenqing is currently the head coach of Hebei Chess Team.
