Experts have identified this species as a female baby sperm whale family, 3 meters long and weighing about 300 kilograms, and signs of bleeding at the genital fissure were found after landing.
At about 10:30 a.m. on December 9, the Sanya Municipal Bureau of Oceanography and Fisheries received a telephone report that suspected dolphin fish had been found in the coastal waters of dadong bay. The staff rushed to the scene at the first time to understand the situation, found that the suspected dolphin was injured, but did not let people approach, and returned to the open sea at about 11:00 a.m.
At about 15:30, the Sanya Municipal Bureau of Oceanography and Fisheries received another report that the suspected dolphins had returned to the coastal waters of the Great East China Sea. The Sanya Municipal Bureau of Oceanography and Fisheries invited experts from the Institute of Deep Seas of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to the scene to jointly discuss rescue measures, determine that they will be rescued ashore for inspection, and then carry out targeted rescue work.
At about 18:00 on the same day, the people rescued the big fish ashore and transported them to the place where there was a rescue ability for careful inspection. The Sanya Municipal Bureau of Oceanography and Fisheries said that it is organizing and coordinating experts from relevant fields to rescue the injured big fish, and the rescue measures will be determined according to the inspection results, and the relevant situation will be announced in a timely manner.
