Sony has learned the much-maligned lesson of introducing live-action characters into the film from the first two animated works, and the latest Smurf animated film, Smurfs 3, scheduled for March 31, 2017, will be fully animated and will try to restore the original by Belgian cartoonist Beyot.
Sony had previously produced two Smurf movies, which were a live-action + animated model, but the Smurfs 2 box office did not meet expectations, so Sony decided to change its strategy to make a purely animated film.
