Alpine F1 Team has announced that Fernando Alonso will represent Alpine F1 Team at the 2022 FIA F1 World Championship.
Alonso will fight alongside Esteban Ocon again. Previously, Aucom had signed a three-year contract with the Alpine F1 team.

Today, Alpine F1 Racing is pleased to announce that two-time F1 world champion Fernando Alonso will continue to play alongside Esteban Ocon for the 2022 season. At the just-concluded Hungarian Grand Prix, Alonso helped alpine team to the F1 championship for the first time with a brilliant performance. Alonso's contract extension means that the strong relationship between the two sides will be further extended and strengthened.
Alonso was suspended from F1 for two years, but in the six months since his comeback, he has recovered in terms of game skill, strategy and speed. At the Hungarian Grand Prix, he achieved his best result of the season – fourth place – which is not only his best result in F1 since 2014, but also a perfect demonstration of his tenacity, tenacity and skill.
