A legend
A long time ago, a man and a woman in love lived on both sides of the grass sea in Lugu Lake, and at night, the man rowed a pig trough boat to the other shore to date his beloved woman.
After dawn the next day, he rowed the pig trough boat back home. No matter the wind or rain, the cold and heat are uninterrupted.
Watching her lover rowing hard to and from the two sides of the Grass Sea every day, the woman was very distressed, and she had the idea of building a bridge on the Grass Sea. After the two agreed, they began to build a wooden bridge on the grass sea, which was called "marriage bridge" by later generations.
Caohai Marriage Bridge is the only bridge on Lugu Lake
The sea of grass is in the southeast of Lugu Lake, the lake is shallow, the reeds are flourishing, and it looks like an ocean of grass in the distance, so it is called "grass sea".
Straddling the sea of grass is the marriage bridge known as the "world's first queqiao".
About "Walking Marriage"
The "daughter country" in folklore of all countries in the world has probably only existed today, and the Mosuo people are probably the only ones.
The Mosuo people on the shores of Lugu Lake pursue the custom of "walking marriage" of "men do not marry, women do not marry". Here, there is no "third party", and there is no "parent's order, the word of the matchmaker".
They are not slaves to money, material things, and power, but only to live according to their own nature and pursue love.

Pork belly

Ride on a pig trough boat
