In the past hundred years, the Gaojia Garden has experienced wars and changes, and once it was dilapidated, like the last desolate gesture of an era.
Today, after the modern design has been restored and interpreted, the Gaojia Garden, which carries the customs and humanistic memories of the canal city, has become the "urban living room" of the new era.
This is the past and present life of the Gaojia Garden.
The ideal life of the ancients: "Worth the Taiping Dynasty, Shenghushan County". In Hangzhou, a city of landscapes, private villa gardens such as Gaojia Garden have always been loved by literati and scholars.
In contrast to the introvertedness of the Jiangnan scribes, her façade design is very low-key. Under the shade of green trees, the pink walls are tiled and the moss marks are pale. Outside the simple wooden door, a bamboo reclining wall looks no different from the average reader at first glance, but the two stone lions at the door silently tell the prestige of the former high gate.
Push the door in, and you know what's inside. The garden landscape is elegant and chic, characterized by the combination of virtual reality and winding paths.

The scribe veranda is designed as an art gallery, with an interactive experience of the old and new scenery, allowing people to "immerse" themselves in this century-old mansion. The wall is a new design, combined with a photo wall and a text introduction, supplemented by the form of viewing old objects, telling the experience of the owner of the Gaojia Garden in starting a business and making friends, and the presentation of the canal style. Outside the colonnade is a view of the garden, which can be viewed from old photos.
Although the current garden area is only one-tenth of the size of the year, the structure is still intact and exquisite.
The deep grass in the desert garden has been renovated, and now the nine-curved stone bridge is winding, and the water stage is beautiful, lined with lake stone rockeries and green algae pools. Under the dense leaves of the camphor tree, the courtyard is clear and shady, the smell is fine, and the birds chirp can be heard, as if entering the realm of washing the heart, and doing the real fun of the garden.
The owner of the Gaojia Garden and the Hangzhou bibliophile Ding Bing had a very thick friendship, and remembered that in the past, the literati and inkers gathered in the garden to taste tea and discuss wine, chant the wind and make the moon, and enjoy a play of "Dream of Visiting the Garden". Modern people steal half a day of leisure, and it is also a great pleasure to come here to relax.
Borrow an earthen mountain, build a hill in the chest, and plant pine to invite the wind.

"Busy people's garden pavilion, should be connected to the residence", Gaojia Garden is influenced by the owner's commercial thinking, and the two main buildings are in the style of Chinese and Western.
Nanhua Building is a two-storey exquisite small building, brick and wood structure, the top of the hill, the cornice line is soothing, rich Song Dynasty relics. The corridor runs through the entire flower hall, and the beams, bucket arches, foreheads, and ox legs are all exquisitely carved. There are 8 floor doors on the left and right of the building, and the style adopts the louvered door leaf that is common in colonial architecture. Looking closely at the walls, some of the Western style mottled that was brought into the original design can be seen.
The South China Building is the epitome of the quality life of the literati and scholars in the early years of the Republic of China. When the design team participated in the renovation, in line with the premise of respecting the history and the building itself, it adopted a combination of Eastern and Western styles to design and soft decoration.
At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the People's Republic, there were many tea houses around Gongchen Bridge, and drinking tea and listening to opera was also part of the canal culture. As a "city living room", Gaojia Garden is positioned in the style of the Tea House of the Republic of China, and carries out different space designs around the themes of "piano, chess, books, paintings, poems, incense, and tea".
The interior style continues the vocabulary of the overall architecture, re-depicting the Republican style within the adjustable range. In the choice of furniture, it also integrates the Eastern and Western styles, and the Shanghai school furniture of the Republic of China style is exquisite and complex, which well neutralizes the solemnity and dignity of the green brick building.
In order to highlight the quaint and rich atmosphere of the space, the home furnishing items of the Republic of China style are used to create a landscape. The beautiful carved tea poems on the walls, the antique phonograph with distinct style, the glass lighting with beautiful light, the beautiful brocade flowers and birds fans, and the brocade pillows create a delicate and ethereal space.
The main materials of the space are stone, fabric, wood, metal and leather. The background wall of the foyer is hung with a huge landscape, and the silk and local embroidery are used to make it, echoing the theme of "weaving". The process uses silk to sit on the ground and overlap the technique to create a sense of layering. The color matching of the overall space also pays attention to the relationship of inheritance, pleasing to the eye and generous, and everyone's style is immediate.
The original staircase has been renovated to create a Zen coffee break space. Flower arrangement in the style of shu shu, pine potted plants in Yashang, quaint incense burners, guqin... Set aside a quiet corner, it is advisable to talk about the three or five confidants.
The space decorated with golden and brilliant glass lamps is full of unique Republican style, which can be worn in a cheongsam and a tuan fan, playing a modern girl of the Republic of China.

It was added in the 1980s and has a minimalist factory structure.
In the later transformation, the designer deliberately retained the original spatial form, partly separated by bamboo fences and screens, and used the new Chinese style to be inked and dyed.
The north side reopened the window to increase indoor lighting while framing the outdoor bamboo forest. Borrow the scenery from the forest, and enjoy the spirit in the heart.
The two separate tea spaces are presented in an atmospheric and delicate style. The most amazing thing is the silk hand-painted wall on the whole surface, just like Ni Yunlin's Yunshan ink play, which is full of vitality and beauty, adding infinite vitality and beauty to the entire space. Through restraint and restrained spatial atmosphere, the designer conveys the understanding of modern oriental artistic conception. Following the minimalist aesthetics of the Song Dynasty, without over-decoration and emphasizing the integrity of the space, "the light pole knows that the flowers are more colorful".
Ai Ri Lou is a single-storey Chinese and Western style building, which is a four-slope roof single-storey Western-style building with Shanghai elements that is rare in the whole of Hangzhou, has Shanghai elements and is relatively well preserved.
A coupon gallery, showing the calm style of the English manor. The red brick-based, gray-brick inlaid façade is rustic and heavy, and whenever the sunset passes through the corridor, the whole building presents a sense of divine solemnity.
The interior space is the opposite of the façade, and the Shanghai style popular in the Republic of China plays the design tone, making the overall building cool and luxurious, and continuing the historical heritage.
The main living room is spacious and elegant, and the interior is decorated with both graceful solemnity and Western style embellishment. Stained glass doors and windows and decorative hanging plates form a delicate and complex first visual effect. The retro-style dark green velvet sofa is the visual center, sitting with a noble and classic aura. Stained glass screens, large leafy green plants, chandeliers, exquisite hanging paintings... It perfectly reproduces the modern style of the living room of the Republic of China.
Centuries ago, Antique European furniture has crossed the sea and settled here, re-writing their classics. The rich and elegant high-back chair, the classical and chic antique chair, the old piano, the romantic candlestick, the exaggerated and artistic gramophone are all part of the high-society table culture, and the old photos on the background wall are the best props for creating the atmosphere. Even the design of the washroom is a low-luxury texture.
Every space in the living room presents the modernity and refinement of the Haipai culture of the 1920s, and the diversity and tolerance of culture give her a complex and charming temperament. Sit here sipping tea and drinking red wine, listening to the retro phonograph gently playing jazz and blues, or listening to someone play "Moonlight" on the keys.
In the shadows of the clothes, the chips are staggered, and the time is returned to 1920. When the flowers bloom perfectly, the dance is full of passion, and the gorgeous old dream of the Republic of China seems to have never pulled on her curtain, and in the Gaojia Garden after a hundred years of loneliness, it still continues the splendor and glory of the past.
Gaojia Garden is known as the "Pearl of the Canal", in fact, this pearl has been dusted for nearly a hundred years. With the opportunity of the overall development of the canal, she was injected with a new soul, blending the original old rhyme and style, and standing quietly on the banks of the ancient canal with a small but beautiful cultural landscape, exercising a new mission.
All year round, rain, frost and snow, gaojia garden can not be approached without a day.
On a sunny day, sit in the window ashram, watch the grass-colored smoke, and feel the tranquility of her hidden in the city.
On rainy days, watch the drizzle wet streamers, listen to the sound of rain ticking, the most suitable for meditation to taste a cup of Zen tea.
