【Chuang'ao Sharing】Is it no resistance or reduced resistance? How China banned resistance

Why "ban resistance" and "limit resistance"? What kind of impact will it have after the ban? Wu Shugeng, a researcher at the Feed Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said: "Since the early 1950s, pharmaceutical additives as feed additives have been applied to animal husbandry production. For more than 50 years, livestock products have changed from luxury goods to cheap and high-quality daily foods, and the credit for feed drug additives is undeniable. However, with the passage of time, the abuse of antibiotics has also caused various problems, such as drug residues, bacterial resistance, environmental pollution, etc., so today, feed "anti-resistance" and drug "resistance limit" has become the general trend.

What are the pharmaceutical feed additives? Wu Shugeng said: "Feed additives originally included pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical feed additives, of which non-pharmaceutical additives also include nutritional and general feed additives. After 2020, there will be no longer any drug feed additives. The former Announcement No. 168 of the Ministry of Rural Affairs contained 33 kinds of drug feed additives, of which 6 have long been banned; 14 kinds of anticoccidial drugs and 2 kinds of Chinese veterinary drugs, all changed from "veterinary drugs to add words" to "veterinary drugs", which can continue to be used in commercial feed and breeding processes; and 11 kinds of growth-promoting antibiotics will be completely banned in the future. That is to say, the real discontinuation is 11 kinds of antibiotics /synthetic antibacterial drugs that have the effect of preventing animal diseases and promoting animal growth, namely bacitracin zinc premix, flavinycin premix, Virginin prime mix, naxitide premix, avilamycin premix, guitarin premix, oxytetracycline calcium premix, chlortetracycline premix, enramycin premix, methylene salicylic acid bacitracin premix, quenosterone premix.

Feed additives for growth promoters have played an important role in the past, so why are they withdrawn completely today? There are three main reasons:

1. It is the problem of drug-resistant bacteria

2. It is a matter of human health

3. It is a problem of environmental hazards

Rational use of antibiotics can make its negative effects get a certain control, but this is not easy, there are a large number of irregular, unreasonable use of antibiotics in China's aquaculture industry, including over-range, over-dose, ultra-long-term use, blind combination of drugs, the use of prohibited veterinary drugs, resulting in drug residues, drug resistance spread and food safety problems are becoming increasingly serious.

After the ban, how to deal with animal diseases? In fact, it is mainly through improving the management level to eliminate the environment in which the epidemic occurs and spreads as much as possible. For example, strengthen the health of seedlings, disease resistance breeding work, strengthen the purification of diseases in the middle hospital, improve the feed curing prefabrication process, and improve the feeding level.

After controlling the source of infection, it is necessary to cut off the transmission route as much as possible, Wu Shugeng said: "This includes improving biosecurity measures on farms, such as strengthening disinfection, isolation, ventilation, scientific treatment of manure, etc." That is, to improve the farm environment, enhance the animal's autoimmunity, and reduce the chance of disease transmission. ”
