At the beginning of the Southern Song Dynasty, there was a Huaiyu Academy with the same name as the four major colleges in Jiangnan. From the Yuan Dynasty to the 10th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1350), the Duanming Academy was built. During the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, the first higher primary school in the county was established. In the 28th year of the Republic of China (1939), the prefectural junior high school was established.
Yushan No.1 Middle School was formerly known as Yushan County Junior High School, which was founded in 1939, and the school site was located in Xuegong (i.e., Confucius Temple, now Yushan No.1 Chinese Yuan School). In the summer of 1942, due to the invasion of the Japanese Kou, the school was first moved to Hengjie Township in the county, and then to Tongfang Township in the county; in the autumn of 1944, the school moved to its current location, Zhangjia Garden (Hongyuan). In 1953, it was renamed "Jiangxi Yushan Junior High School". In 1958, it began to admit high school students and became a complete middle school, renamed "Yushan Middle School". In 1978, yushan middle school beimenshan branch became independent as "Yushan No. 2 Middle School", and the headquarters was renamed "Yushan No. 1 Middle School". Now the campus has been expanded to about 140 acres. Yushan No.1 Middle School – Many PhDs have studied at Yushan No.1 Middle School.
