Write "Ode to the Red Flag" in a week
From television, from the radio... Many viewers have heard "Ode to the Red Flag", and it is also a memory of generations. Many people know Lu Qiming because of "Ode to the Red Flag".
In 1965, the opening ceremony of the "Shanghai Spring" concert needed a new work with great momentum, and the older generation of musicians gave him this task and came up with a title called "Ode to the Red Flag".
Entrusted with a heavy responsibility, Lu Qiming was nervous and excited, and repeatedly thought about cutting into the angle. This theme triggered his memories of the glory days and his feelings for the red flag, "The red flag is the symbol of the revolution, and wherever there are revolutionaries fighting, there are red flags flying, and it is under the guidance of the red flag that we usher in one victory after another." ”
He wrote in a sleepless way, slept for a while when he was tired, and then got up to fight when he woke up. After a week of hard work day and night, he wrote "Ode to the Red Flag".
Premiered at the opening ceremony of the sixth "Shanghai Spring" in 1965, "Ode to the Red Flag" affectionately depicted the solemn scene of the first five-star red flag rising at the founding ceremony of the People's Republic of China on October 1, 1949, which was jointly premiered by the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, the Shanghai Film Orchestra and the Shanghai Orchestra, and quickly spread throughout the country.
"Over the years, 'Ode to the Red Flag' can still be loved by the audience, and the most fundamental thing is that the love for the motherland and the red flag overflowing in the music has produced real resonance and touching with the audience's love for the motherland and the red flag." Lu Qiming once said so.
A composer who grew up in a revolutionary family
Lü Qiming was born in Wuwei, Anhui Province, and grew up in a revolutionary family. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, his father Lü Huisheng actively participated in the Anti-Japanese Salvation Movement, and served as the director of the Administrative Office of the Anhui River Anti-Japanese Base Area of the Seventh Division of the New Fourth Army.
In 1940, the anti-enemy theater troupe of the Second Division of the New Fourth Army wanted to perform the opera "Rural Song", and it needed a small actor to play the fleeing child Xiao Mao, and He took a fancy to Lu Qiming, who was only 10 years old and became a member of the anti-enemy theater troupe.
At the age of 15, he joined the Communist Party of China and swore an oath to fight for communism all his life under the illumination of the oil lamp in his hometown.
In May 1949, Shanghai was liberated, and as a literary and artistic soldier, Lu Qiming followed the Cultural and Labor Corps of the East China Military Region into Shanghai. After changing careers, he moved to Shanghai Film Studio, where he worked as a violinist in an orchestra while seriously studying composition.
The opportunity finally came, 26-year-old Lu Qiming was invited by director Zhao Mingzhi to compose music for the movie "Railway Guerrilla", a song "Play My Beloved Earth Pipa", which spread throughout the country.
According to some statistics, 95% of Lu Qiming's works are acuras of the motherland, acura of the people, and acura of the revolutionary cause, all of which are the main themes.
He once mentioned that all his creations were fulfilled on the oath he made on the day he joined the party - writing for the motherland and the people, for him, it is not a slogan, but a lifelong noble duty and sacred mission.
"I'm still young and can continue to work"
Today, Lu Qiming, who is 91 years old, is still insisting on creating.
Some time ago, the "Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China Red Classic Repertoire Exhibition Season" held a press conference, and Lu Qiming also came to the scene to witness the "start-up" of the "Red Classic Repertoire Exhibition season".
He said: "I'm 91 years old and I feel like I'm still young and can continue to work. These days, I'm working day and night to revise a brand new version of my work. For me, this work has the same weight as "Ode to the Red Flag" and is also a small gift I dedicate to the centenary of the Communist Party of China. ”
Serving the people wholeheartedly and creating for the people is the starting point of all Lu Qiming's actions, and it is also the belief and pursuit of his musical life.
In Lu Qiming's view, only with the motherland and the people in mind can artists create excellent works worthy of the times, "Truly excellent works of art can be spread and retained, not a gust of wind." (End)
