Shi Ming, a 103-year-old "Taiwan independence" bigwig, died

(Observer Network News)

According to a report by Taiwan media "Central News Agency" on September 20, Shi Ming, a "big man of the independence faction" in Taiwan, fell ill and died at the age of 103 at about 11 p.m. that same day.

Born on November 9, 1918 in Japan, Shi Ming, whose real name is Shi Zhaohui, graduated early from the Department of Political Economy at Waseda University during World War II and then went to Chinese mainland. He defected to Kuomintang-controlled Taiwan during the Liberation War and later fled to Japan for attempting to assassinate Chiang Kai-shek.

Shi Ming once concocted the so-called "Four Hundred Years of Taiwanese History" and was one of the main leaders of the so-called "Taiwan independence theory." Sun Mingli, a media person on the island, said that Shi Ming had smuggled himself into Japan, and then became obsessed with the so-called "creation of the Theory of Taiwan independence" and "the writing of the historical concept of Taiwan independence, and concocted "the theory and historical foundation of Taiwan independence" for the "Taiwan independence" organization. In 2016, the DPP authorities came to power, and Shi Ming became the senior official of the Tsai Office.

On June 30 this year, when Shi Ming participated in the event, he once again made "Taiwan independence" remarks, saying that "I am about to leave, and I will rely on everyone to work hard in the future", and the result was ridiculed by netizens as "living in vain".

Earlier this year, Shi Ming came out to support Tsai Ing-wen when Tsai Ing-wen, the leader of the Taiwan authorities, was "forced into the palace" by several other "pro-independence" bigwigs. At that time, Shi Ming posted on Facebook that "in the 2020 election, if Tsai Ing-wen did not go up, Shi Ming and the 'independence movement' of the past 400 years would all be lost."

In recent years, the Tsai administration has also interacted with Shi Ming in public from time to time. In November 2018, Shi Ming, who had just passed his 101st birthday, was sent to the hospital for treatment due to a fall injury. After Tsai Ing-wen heard the news, she rushed to the hospital to visit. At his "Centenary Birthday Sharing Meeting", Shi Ming claimed that "Tsai Ing-wen's ability is very good, she is the only talent in Taiwan at present, do not let the KMT return to power." At that time, it was bombarded by netizens, "It is really a complication" and "Wake up!" "Again, they want to play with 'Taiwan independence' to deceive votes."
