Football: Sir Alex Ferguson himself fought for his best Manchester United Eleven

Many of United's greatest players in history have played under their legendary coach, Sir Alex Ferguson, so it's no surprise that he struggled to find his ideal team.

Ferguson has a lot of honorary titles and he manages some of the best players in Premier League history, but they will be fighting for a place in his squad. When someone asks him: 'Who is your best Manchester United team?' 'It's absolutely impossible,' replied Ferguson

Ferguson went on to say that this was absolutely impossible. You look at the strikers I used to have, back to [Brian] McClair, Mark Hughes, Andy. Cole, [Eric] Cantona, [Rudd] Van Nistrum, [Louis] Saha, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Dwight York, [Teddy] Sheringham. So the current players – Wayne Rooney, (Robin) Van Persie, Chicarito (Javier Hernandez). How did you do it? Could Cantona and others be? The list includes United's current coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was known for a belated title in the 1999 Camp Nou Champions League final.

Midfielder

The Scotland coach added: "The midfield could be a little easier because you have Keane, Robson and Scholes – they're all great players – as well as David Beckham, Ronaldo and Giggs. ”

These players are often complemented by talented workers such as Darren Fletcher or Nikki Barthes who lack the charisma and stardom of Beckham or Robson but struggle with the speed of their work.

A definite choice

Ferguson concluded: "I would have convinced Dennis Irving that he would definitely be a part of the team," adding that in addition to other top defenders such as Steve Bruce, Leo Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic, Irving was clearly impressed.

Choosing such a team is not easy, especially given his strength in many respects, as he has won the Premier League and the Champions League with almost no recognised teams.
