At about 13:00 local time on November 6, a serious traffic accident occurred on the highway from Mexico City, the mexican capital, to Puebla. At present, after preliminary investigation, the cause of the incident is that a large tank truck carrying combustible chemicals has a brake failure, cannot brake, and hit at least 4 cars at the highway toll station, causing a small explosion and fire.
According to mexico's Ministry of Civil Defense, the accident has killed at least 19 people and injured three others. The accident also caused mexico City's highway to Puebla state to be temporarily closed for on-site cleanup. After about 3 hours, some of the lanes were reopened to traffic.
