Identified and reviewed by the Phytosanitary Laboratory of the Nanjing Customs Animal, Plant and Food Testing Center, it was identified and reviewed as platypus parallelus and concomitant beetle small beetle (xyleborus affinis) among quarantine pests, of which the medium-to-long beetle was the first interception at Zhenjiang Port.

Medium to small beetle is widely distributed in Southeast Asia, Africa, the Americas and other regions, the host range is wide, for the forest tree drill moth pest, can drill the wood moth tunnel to form a borer hollow, endangering the wood xylem.

Although this small insect looks inconspicuous, it is fertile and extremely harmful, and once the epidemic is introduced, it will endanger the safety of forestry production in China. Zhenjiang Customs has carried out pest control of the logs.
