Beijing, October 25 (Xinhua) -- The two-day "Meet in Beijing" 2021/2022 Bobsled and Steel Frame Snowmobile Chronograph race kicked off at the National Bobsleigh Center on October 25. This is the first international event to be held in accordance with the standards of the Winter Olympics after the completion of the venue, and it will run a high-intensity and all-round test venue.

Lin Jinwen, director of the venue of the National Bobsleigh Center, introduced that as a test event for the snowmobile and steel frame snowmobile projects of the Beijing Winter Olympics, the time trial has high standards, many overseas personnel and a long time span. At present, the venue operates 20 hours a day to test 29 business areas of the Benchmark Winter Olympic Games.

Previously, the venue held an international training week for bobsleighs and steel frames from October 5 to 21, and athletes have skied a total of 10,000 times. The stadium team has accumulated a lot of experience in high-intensity support. On this basis, the time trial will focus on the first test content such as the award ceremony, timing scoring, and anti-doping.

Epidemic prevention and control is still the "top priority" in the operation of the venue. The venue strictly divides the use space and activity flow of each customer group, and does a good job in the whole process management of the entry personnel. Taking the reporter as an example, it is necessary to provide 48-hour negative nucleic acid test certificate, itinerary code, "health treasure" green code and other epidemic prevention information in advance, and stay in the reception hotel after approval, and must not go out without authorization. Before the race on the morning of the 25th, the designated vehicle was picked up and dropped off to the Hanquan service area, and after the security check, the car continued to arrive at the venue, the nucleic acid test was carried out on the spot, and then the designated area of the venue was interviewed.

The time trial has a total of 6 small events: women's steel frame snowmobile, men's steel frame snowmobile, women's single snowmobile, men's double snowmobile, women's double snowmobile, and four-person snowmobile, with a total of 240 athletes from 23 countries and regions including Germany, Austria, the United States and South Korea participating.

In the women's steel frame snowmobile and men's steel frame snowmobile competitions that took the lead in the morning and afternoon of the 25th, the German team players won two first prizes and showed a good competitive state.

Lin Jinwen said that at present, from the feedback of athletes, they generally affirm the professionalism and professional quality of the stadium team, believing that the ice quality is good, the rescue is rapid, and the traffic connection service is good.

He said that the time trial is the "first half" of the last test event in the Yanqing area of the Beijing Winter Olympics, and that the International Skiing Week and the World Cup will be held at the venue in November, which is a valuable opportunity to test the preparations of the venue. The venue team must not only complete the task of the international test match, but also check the shortcomings and fill in the loopholes through the test match.
