On the afternoon of June 9, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin presided over a regular press conference. A reporter asked: According to Japanese media reports, the International Exchange Fund under the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched a visit to Japan in 2008 for individuals with strong influence in Public Opinion and the media circles in China. What is China's comment on this?

Wang Wenbin said: I have noted relevant reports. The practice of exchanging visits and exchanges between countries in various forms is common in the practice of international relations.

Wang Wenbin pointed out that China and Japan are each other's important close neighbors, and personnel exchanges between the two countries are very close. In the nearly half century since the normalization of Diplomatic Relations between China and Japan, there have been numerous personnel exchanges between the two sides promoted by the support of the government, which have made positive contributions to the development of bilateral relations. In recent years, the two sides have also established an exchange plan of "arranging two-way visits between 30,000 young people from the two countries in five years", and the two-way study tour activities for young students supported by the two governments are also being planned and prepared, which will be implemented after the end of the epidemic. We hope that through sustained, healthy and stable personnel exchanges between China and Japan, we will achieve the goal of enhancing understanding, building trust, and deepening friendship.
