All big businessmen love to learn, even if the education is not high, but self-learning knowledge is not necessarily less. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, there were giant merchants who paid tribute to Confucius; today, there are many famous entrepreneurs who are hungry for books.
For example, Li Ka-shing, since the early years of entrepreneurship, has maintained two habits: first, before going to bed, you must read books, non-professional books, he will grasp the key to see, if it is related to the company's profession, even if it is difficult to read, he will read it
Second, after dinner, be sure to watch more than ten or twenty minutes of English TV, not only to watch, but also to follow the loud talk, constantly acquire new knowledge, and keep thinking fresh and active.
You see, people who have done such a big job are still trying to learn, what reason do we have to be lazy? What excuse do we have to avoid learning? It can be seen that learning is a compulsory course for the growth of big businessmen.
From the point of view of the intellectual structure, I have summarized the merchant community into four realms.
The so-called grass merchant is a grass merchant. They are like coyotes in the commercial jungle, charging forward, tireless, strong desire to survive, full of adventurous spirit, as long as they smell a hint of business opportunities and interests, as if smelling blood, passionate, rapid attack.
Generally speaking, such businessmen can rely on intuition, experience and fighting spirit to capture business opportunities in time, do a good job, and achieve profit from it.
However, the disadvantages of grass merchants are that the theoretical structure is not enough, the thinking ability is insufficient, the lack of foresight and systematic strategy, and even sometimes the profit is forgotten, unscrupulous, so it is difficult to become bigger and stronger, once the cause reaches a certain stage will encounter a bottleneck in development. In China, at least 80% of merchants fall into this category.
The so-called Confucian businessman, literally, should be a businessman with Confucian knowledge and Confucian style. However, the ancient "Confucianism" did not refer only to Confucianism, but to people with cultural knowledge.
Generally speaking, the group that turned from cultural people to merchants was called Confucian shang. They put aside the purity of the cultural people, armed themselves with knowledge and theory, and bravely devoted themselves to commercial activities.
Because of their knowledge and theoretical guidance, they are like cheetahs in the commercial jungle, not only can quickly seize business opportunities, but also act in an orderly manner, know how to use strategy to play with various relationships, and at the same time believe in "gentlemen love money, take the way", "benevolence and righteousness and wisdom", "unrighteous and rich and expensive, like a floating cloud to me", "poor is good at their own, reach and benefit the world" and other business principles, properly coordinate the contradictions between righteousness and profit, and have a certain commercial moral bottom line and social responsibility.
Such merchants possessed both Confucian virtues, knowledge, and wisdom, as well as the wealth and success of secular merchants. In the early Days, Confucian merchants included Tao Zhugong, Zigong, Bai Gui, etc., during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Confucian merchants included Huishang, Jinshang, Huaishang, Fujian shang, etc., and famous Confucian merchants in modern and contemporary times included Shao Run-Fu, Fok Yingdong and others. Among the merchant groups, the proportion of Confucian merchants does not exceed 20%.
The so-called Shang Confucianism is that businessmen gradually discover the deficiencies of their knowledge theories in business activities, so they begin to intentionally learn and cultivate, and gradually improve their knowledge and theoretical framework. It can be said that this is a group of conscious learners in the business community, with the purpose of making themselves a theoretical boss.
It is very important to study theory and grasp the law, experience represents the past, can not guide the future, only by elevating experience into theory, can we guide the future. All big businessmen have their own unique theories and methods in the operation of business.
This is Shangru! From shang to Confucianism, from shang to Tao, gradually to the realm. Shang Confucianism focuses on business, and learning is to let yourself have a theoretical system, so as to better guide the business, and eventually become a generation of big businessmen.
The so-called philosopher merchant is a combination of a businessman and a philosopher. The so-called philosopher is the wise. The wise man is not necessarily a great businessman, but the best of the great merchants must be the wise.
A successful businessman, with the maturity of his business ideas, gradually sorted out a set of his own wisdom system. They look at problems with the eyes of sages and philosophers, with lofty visions and open realms, doing things step by step, and everything is under control and planning.
What they did may not be comprehensible to many, but in a dozen years, time will prove them right. They not only single-handedly built their own business empire, but also achieved the three immortal life goals of "Lide, Meritorious Service, and Speech".
In addition, they believe in the principle of "small businessmen rely on wisdom, large businessmen rely on morality", and use the big pattern and big mind to accommodate talents and resources. They do business like Jiang Ziya and Yi Yin ruling the country, secretly combining heaven and time, geography, people and ways, rising to the height of sages and philosophers.
In these four realms, the lowest level of businessmen are grass merchants, they are the best at barbaric growth, in the early stage of reform and opening up in the state of insufficient competition, many grassy businessmen with the spirit of adventure to achieve small success, but later because of the lack of theoretical guidance, unable to grasp the operation trend of business laws, many grass merchants' career began to stagnate, facing the transformation challenges of the new era.
Next is the Confucian Shang, who is more intelligent than the Confucian Shang, called shang Confucian, theoreticians and thinkers in the merchant community. Finally, there is the philosopher, whose operation has reached a state of trance, and has created a set of his own business philosophy, which is the realm of the big businessman.
The business of a big businessman must take "a gentleman loves wealth and has a way to get it" as the principle, "if he is poor, he will be good at his home, and if he is poor, he will help the world", with the strategy of "closing the yin and yang, combining the vertical and the horizontal", and with the determination of "a journey of a thousand miles, starting with a single step", he will open his heart, make a wide range of righteous people, give charity to the masses, and perfectly integrate Chinese culture with the Chinese business path.
For example, Jin Shang, a very powerful merchant gang in China, whose representative figure Qiao Zhiyong is a person who has passed the middle class. It can be seen from this that if a businessman does not have a certain theoretical cultivation and does not have a set of moral codes to guide himself, he will certainly not be able to become a great businessman.
Therefore, from the grass merchant to the Confucian merchant to the Confucian merchant, and then to the final philosopher shang, the whole process is the transformation from the snake to the dragon, which we call the transformation of the snake and the dragon, the change of the monk and the Buddha!
